  1. Congrats on the qualification. Go kick some bass and keep us posted. Hookem Matt
  2. Kelly has done that before, maybe not in a tournament, but have seen him do that on Fork. Two years ago while filming an TV episode on Lake Fork, Kelly nailed 11 fish with Storms Swimbaits in bunker color totalling alittle over 100 pounds. Not too shabby. Buddy of mine and I watched the filming of it. Not bad for dragging a swim on a road bed in late summer.
  3. How many of ya'll have bought the satelite photo of your lake from Google? I have flown over a few lakes that I would love to have an aerial photo of. Matt
  4. Merry Christmas to all who believe in the Christmas spirit. As for the BS flag, try googling Santa and arrested for Ho, ho , ho. Seems there are places that has gave warning to Santa's and Ho, ho's! Merry Christmas, and like JT, don't care, I have never meant no harm by wishing it upon some one, so, If I said it to you and it doesn't apply, please disregard, no malice intended in the first place. Merry Christmas!!!!!!
  5. What Ive heard also is they are yet to start spawning. Most locals think the next moon will start the bedding. Gotta love power plant lakes.
  6. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to each and every one. Please be safe if travelling during the holidays. Thanks for all that ya'll do!!!! Matt
  7. Glad to hear the wife is okay. Sorry to hear you have hurt your back again. Stiffness is one thing and shooting pains are another. I liked heated pools and the warm bathes for rehab and soothing some pain. Hope the Christmas Holidays are blessed at the Catt House! Hookem Matt
  8. I am a big fan of Cabo Wabo. One of the smoothest tequilas I have ever had. This tequila is so smooth, you drink it naked with no regrets. For those of you who don't know, Ordering a shot of tequila without salt or lime in Texas and probably other states as well is simply stated. A shot of Cabo Wabo naked please!
  9. Blame Disney if your gonna let it trickle up. Its only fair you bad mouth the owners of ESPN and BASS. When ya'll start talking boycotting of Disney, you might hit a nerve with the owners. Just for the Record!
  10. As I read the article, It appears the guy wrote some remarks on a boating blog, FLW didn't like it. Maybe Glenn would weigh in his opinion on this one. Is this kinda like slander over the internet? Most might think the first admendment should protect this guy. Would this case be a first? I will assume, that by entering a FLW tournament, you agree on certain principals. Like no negative press. I guess I should read all the rules to seek some of my answers.
  11. Angler, fishing group at odds over tournament prize money Lawsuit claims pro fisherman made threats; he says he never received his winnings BY EMILY GURNON Pioneer Press Article Last Updated: 12/14/2007 11:37:33 PM CST Troubled waters in the fishing world have splashed over into federal court, where a Minneapolis-based group has filed suit against one of its anglers. Operation Bass Inc., also known as FLW Outdoors, puts on fishing tournaments. It has sued Perry Johnston, a North Carolina fisherman who has participated in them, saying Johnston "publicly and privately impugned the integrity" of its tournaments. The group also says he threatened to sue them if it did not comply with his "extravagant" demands, according to the suit filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis. Johnston, a professional kingfish angler, has "accumulated a series of perceived grievances" against FLW - a group founded by wealthy Minneapolis financier Irwin Jacobs. Reached at his home in Oak Island, N.C., Johnston said: "They don't have any grounds to sue me for anything." Dave Washburn, vice president of communications for FLW, declined to elaborate on the suit. According to the complaint in the case: Johnston, 45, finished sixth in one of FLW's qualifying kingfish tournaments. He then lodged a protest that the captain of one of the top five boats had not been on board and that that violated tournament rules. He lost money as a result of that decision, he alleged. FLW determined that no violation had occurred. Johnston was not satisfied. He demanded a three-year deal that included payment of all of his kingfish tour entry fees, a sponsor-wrapped boat and free use of a -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Advertisement -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chevrolet Suburban, the suit says. The organization said, in effect, "Sorry, Charlie." Johnston later complained that the group was guilty of fraud and false advertising when it failed to give him the money he'd won in the 2007 championship event. FLW sent him the money via check, the lawsuit says. But Johnston allegedly did more than just talk. He posted comments about FLW on a boating Web site called "The Hull Truth," according to the suit. It quotes Johnston as writing on Nov. 10 that the supposed nonpayment of the prize money "will prove to be a big mistake for the FLW organization. In 12 days, the FLW (and) ALL THEIR SPONSORS for this event will be served with a lawsuit ... GEE I WONDER HOW KELLOGG'S, PROCTOR & GAMBLE, DURACELL and the other sponsors are going to like a lawsuit they receive concerning the FLW stealing prize monies from the fishermen?" Johnston said he does little if any blog writing. He also said he did not make threats. Johnston confirmed that he is in the process of suing FLW. FLW has a solid reputation nationwide, according to Barbara Thompson, editor of Texas-based FishingWorld.com. "They've put the opportunity to win reasonable money into the hands of ordinary, everyday, weekend fishermen." Thompson does not know Johnston or the details of the dispute. But she said it was unlikely that an organization of FLW's caliber would pull the kind of antics that Johnston alleges. "I'd be inclined to say he's a little out in left field, myself," she said.
  12. If for medical reasons, there would be doctors note for such and those should not have been included period. Investigatins would have shown that and no reason to bring those name up. HGH isn't even a legal substance. There are no pharmacies to fill that script out. There aren't any known tests to detect it. You can have guys still using HGH and no way to test for it. Why do you think MLB wants to hire Olympic Doctors to help develope testing procedures? To stop the usage!!!! If it helped Barry hit 200 more homeruns, then he cheated the rightfull owner of that prestigous record of Hanks. I grew up with baseball, the Astros and Rangers and baseball has alot of cleaning up before I come back. Records too!
  13. FLW is taking one of their own to court. I would like some feedback. Would this be one of the first cases to go to court over some comments posted on a forum? or Blog? Slander???? http://www.twincities.com/ci_7726084?IADID=Search-www.twincities.com-www.twincities.com&nclick_check=1 You can read it from the newspaper. Hookem
  14. The time lines are in place, you can see certain careers where bottomed out, the next step was being cut or released, and then all of a sudden, these guys start putting up Hall of Fame numbers. Jose Canseco was a Dirty RAT, and all his stories are playing out to be very true. Funny how every place Jose showed up, and all those so called super stars that were in bad slumps, career ending slumps for a long period with some, and then their careers took off. It almost looked as if Clubs just wanted him for modern chemistry, its not like he got a lot of time on the field in his later stops in the Majors. Sure was a long list of players that were his team mates at one time or another that had turn arounds. Baseball took too long to do anything. They deserve the black eye!!!! Even if Baseball didn't have a ban on those substances, it was against the Law of the United States. I'm tired of hearing it wasn't a banned substance by MLB at that time!!!! It was still an illegal susbstance in the eyes of the Law.
  15. Thought this one was very funny!!!!!!
  16. I did some research on Golden boys career. MLB.com if anyone wants to know where I got my facts from. First off, how many 38 year old bodies come back from the dead? Clemens career was all but over. Check his career out from 90 till 96. You will see his innings pitched went spriraling down, era was around 5.1 only pitched in 141 innings. Again, don't have the facts in front of me, but very close. Guess who became a RedSox in 95? No one other than Jose Canseco. Guess whos career turned around in 95. ERA dropped into the 1.? Innings increased upto like 240 something. Guess where his next stop was? Toronto, and guess who ended up in Toronto with Clemens. Jose Canseco. Just look at the numbers, No man can do what he did with his body and career. Clemens become a new pitcher. His era continued to drop, and we all know what kind of a SECOND CAREER he's had. This man has two seperate careers, both with HOF numbers. Anybody want to look at Gagne's career. Who might have been in his locker room. The police, FBI, CIA, and others always say, it takes a thief to catch a thief. True. Jose' Book is 10 for 10. I no longer think Jose lied just to make money. I think his book and info turned out to be just as he said in his book. FACT. Any doubts, just go back and look at the time line. His career was pretty much over, until Jose showed up. Mistake number #2 on Clemens part, Coming out, and crying slander, means you are gonna sue, right? Any bets? Will he? Did Barry Bonds ever sue? He denied it all the time, yet no slander suit? Don't make sense, it sure wasn't because they can't afford to. Just food for thought,
  17. I don't understand how steriods got swepted under the carpet in the 80's? With the deaths of prominent athletes in the 80's, it was no secret back then. Did any of you know how many of the starting offensive linemen are still alive from the 4 time Super Bowl Champs Steelers of the 70's ????? How many Raiders from Maddens team? To me, when you have the Deaths of Lyle Azado and others docuemented and then look at all the young player in late 30's and 40's who just up and died at early ages spelled out something. Why would athletes who are in prime health just all up and die?????? Steroids and sports has never taken me by surprise, only surprise is how long its taken to bring them out in the open.
  18. Not surprised, and won't be surprised with any names that shows up.
  19. Gonna be alot of Texas Parents that won't let Petrino on the porch to recruit their sons!!!! I'm not impressed with his 41-9 record coming from the big east. When has the big east been noted for winning the "BIG GAMES"? The way he left town speaks volumes for his character, but unfortunately, if he does have sucess in the SEC, then he will be forgiven. Winning cures all.
  20. I see players breaking contracts, holding out for more money all the time. How many coaches out there are stand up guys? Some coaches that have class have done the very same, and it don't matter where you came from, as with the midnight intro to the Hog nation last night they cheered. Les Miles did say he talked to Michigan, he said as a "loyal Alum", he was helping them find a coach. BS!!!!! LSU bought your loyality!!! I say show some. I can understand a person bettering themselves. Overall, I think his record speaks for itself at his other stops. And before some one points out his 41-9 record, I'd like to say Big East, and what big games do the Big East win. Speaks for itself. I know that Texas is a neighbor of Ark. and we have great HS football program that keeps recruiters busy. I know you should select a college based on educational opportunites instead of a coach. I can assure you if I had a son and Petrino came calling, he wouldn't be allowed on my front porch. Character should still count for something.
  21. I define a dink as to the set up of the rod. Obviously, if you have 100 lb braid and a grass rake for a rod with a 10 inch swim bait and the bass is ten inches thats a dink. So I think type of rod and setup and the lake you are on determines if its a dink. After all, at the Classic in Pittsburg, it appeared to be a dink a thon. On Fork, a 3 lber is a chunk, but close to being a dink!!!!!!
  22. If he's allowed to be voted as starting safety, then its just an honor for his family. #2 and #3 vote getters would actually be safeties in this case. i'm sure that if he is voted into Pro Bowl, they do something special for him and family.
  23. We have a winner! Score ended up 34-13 Pats. Not a bad guess! Steelers got PANCAKED!! ...and the Seahawks win their 4th consecutive divisional title by dominating the Cardinals 42-21. I fear the Hawk more than any NFC team at this time. Seems like sharing his spot has got Shawn Alexander running better. Any team who can run the ball in the playoffs have a shot, and then, most of your teams key spots are held by Veterans. Seattle is playing alot better than the record shows.
  24. he can serve part of that time behind bars and the rest can be done at halfway house. Why do you think he went in early, to start getting credit for time served.
  25. I gotta say this one means something to the players. Those players will look to make coach look like a saint. There gonna hurt them Jets something aweful bad. Any other sorry team in their position and I say, history showed us that undefeated teams went down to teams that were close to 500 give a take a few points either way. Pats will stomp mudhole in them. I see the pats putting up some seriious numbers. Poor Jets!!!!
