  1. They are a killer bait. I fish them in stump fields & they work well. Keep using them they will pay off.
  2. Here is what my doctor told me to watch out for. 1- 1st. sign are headaches 2- 2nd sign is your body aches 3- 3rd sign is fever 4- 4th sign is a rash especially on the legs He said these will happen about a week apart, if it gets to the rash get medical help right away as you don't have a lot of time. It's nothing to fool with. If you have been bit & you had swelling & it turned red Get checked it's better to be safe than sorry. If you can put the tick in a jar or something as they can check it under a scope & tell better what kind it is.
  3. I dug a tick out of me Friday. I went to the doctor yesterday with the tick in a jar. He told me the good news was I got the whole thing but the bad news was it's the type that carries Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever so now I am taking Azithromycin.
  4. I bought all 3 sizes while at the classic & got to use them this past week. I am here to tell you they catch l/m bass. The size I have done the best on is the 3/8 oz. (3 1/2 in.) It is a fun bait to fish, I hardly ever put it down. When they hit they slam it. I was told that it is an excellent Striper bait also but I have not tried that yet.
  5. I always use a bead & try to match the color of the plastic.
  6. Read the book Knowing Bass by Keith A. Jones, PhD. It has excellent information about scent.
  7. Here you go. http://www.sfttackle.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=265
  8. The DC version temps me also. A Shimano rep on another site said it was not all that we might think it is & did not think it would be coming here any time soon(Core DC). I have a couple of the Antares DC reels & they are way more than I expected. Once I figured out how to set it up properly it is amazing on how far you can cast with it. I have a 5.8:1 for Crank baits & a 7.0:1 for frogs. They do everything they claim for sure. From what I understand the Metanium version will not have as many settings so I think I'll wait to see what the price difference is before I decide.
  9. Specialty Tackle came through today, for in the mail I received 2 Mg7's. A great V/Day gift from me to me. These reels have a great feel to them & are very light. They are going on a couple of custom rods built on Shikari SHX blanks to be used for fishing plastic. I plan on putting them thru their paces this week-end & post what I think next week
  10. Raul, after it slipped from your hand did you purchase a Japanese reel? ;D
  11. All my stuff from them has come FedEx ground. It ships on the same day I order.
  12. R/W I like your thought process. I have 2 Shimano Metanium Mg-7's on the way & should arrive on the 14th. That solves that problem, matching reels. Ooops she will need a rod too, since she does not fish she don't have one. Thanks for the tip I'll be sure to show her your post & tell her it was your idea. ;D
  13. Why is structure no longer part of the equation in 10' or less?
  14. R/W that is probably subject to the yen vs the peso. I know I was looking at a couple of their baits but due to the value of the $ I would only get the hooks.
  15. I fish mostly shallow water,10'or less. I have found this to be true. Position your boat so any shadows fall the opposite direction that you are fishing. Shadows tend to spook fish. Trolling motors will spook fish! In 5 or 6' or less use a push pole & go easy. I have an excellent pair of polarized sun glasses so I turn both my depth finders off in less than 5'of water. I also make a shorter cast to the cover so when I hook up I don't disturb a lot of the cover having to go get the fish or pulling him through 20' of grass chasing everything for 50'. I fish the area around the boat throughly before moving the boat. If it is windy & your boat is moving around use 2 anchors so your boat don't swing, remember shadows. I stand while fishing so I have to really watch out for my shadow as it is longer. I watch for the osprey diving when they are catching fish in the shallows so will you, just be quiet.
  16. Well said Pencil Pusher
  17. VS is loaded with fishing shows on Saturday mornings
  18. I am going to try this Fluorocarbon line for Texas rigged plastic & leaders on Carolina rigs. Anyone that is using or has used would please let me know what you think of it I would appreciate it. Thank You

  20. I purchased the 3 1/2", 5", & 6 1/2" yesterday. I noticed the package says it's a slow sinking bait. Does anyone use these these baits that could tell me the rate at which it falls. It will be at least a couple of weeks before I can get out to find out for my self. Thanks.
  21. I have to agree with Raul & Jimzee. I have been using since they 1st. came out. We had a Bagley Rep in our bass club back then so we had access to all the baits & I just don't remember a lip like that.
  22. Thank y'all for your excellent replies even though the thread got a little off track. Muddy your answer was priceless I got a good laugh out of it. Now my next question is did anyone gain some knowledge?
  23. I was looking to get 2 but no lefties. We just received word from Shimano Japan and DC model only comes in the Right hand model and its scheduled to be released at around February or March. The price will range between 450 - 500. If you are interested in pre-ordering this reel, we could definitely reserve one for you so that you could get one when it releases. I believe its going to be released during their annual fishing show in Osaka. I hope this information helps and we apologize for the delay in getting back to you. Please let us know if there is anything else I could do for you and I will keep you up to date on your MG 7 order. Thank you James @ Specialty Tackle
  24. I know on high modulus thin wall blanks you should not exceed the line & lure rating because of the excellent chance of breaking the rod. I do not know what the term "high sticking" is. I broke a high modulus rod that was in the line & lure weight spec's but I was told I was high sticking. The company did replace the blank but never told me what high sticking was. Hopefully someone here can. Thanks
