  1. This is not rocket science! When your employees can not get to work because of sickness, Weather. or government regulations & shipping what do you expect? T/W is not the only company that is having problems & I am positive they do not like this mess either.
  2. I use ribbed lizards in dirty or darker water. the rings disturb more water when you move the bait creating a better chance of a bass hearing it & finding it. I use a light bullet weight with it so casting is no problem. I do not fine much of a durability difference between the ribbed or regular lizard. In the same water conditions & need a short worm I use a Zoom double ringer on a Carolina rig & again I don't find much of a difference between the ribbed & regular Zoom 4" worm as far durability.
  3. Effective Jan 17th, 2022, phones will be shut down until further notice. Illnesses and severe weather in GA have led to staffing shortages. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Please email us for the fastest response. We will do our best to get back to everyone as soon as we can.
  4. A year ago, Sportsman’s Warehouse entered into a merger agreement with Great American Outdoors, parent company of Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops. Effective December 2, 2021, that merger agreement was terminated. We at Sportsman’s Warehouse are excited to continue operating as a separate, independent and publicly-traded company (NASDAQ: SPWH). As we enter 2022, we look forward to continuing our strong growth – adding more stores, improving Sportsmans.com, and expanding our product assortment and services. Our mission to provide outstanding gear and exceptional service remains unchanged. Gear up for unforgettable! Jon Barker CEO
  5. I bought a bunch of spinnerbaits from War Eagle including double Indiana's. I think they have been sold but I would check their web site.
  6. I know a couple of guys That are up at the campground that my camper is at & they have The Dobyns Kaden Series Crankbait rod KD 735 CB & swear by them. They also have good reviews. I am trying to decide on a new rod for jerkbaits. It's between the Dobyns Kaden Series KD 610 4 CB & the Champion XP DC 635 CB. I like the length of the 635 but have the Champion XP DC 610 4C Skipping rod which is a excellent rod. The Kaden rod has a different taper & only one review that is excellent. So I am back & forth. I will order one by Tuesday of this coming week.
  7. Kazact95 I have read thru post & will state this. I don't have a BFS reel & did not even know they make a BFS rod. I will say this, You mention a BFS Sierra rod I have never heard of it but have a couple of Dobyns Sierra SA 683 C rods rigged with Shimano Scorpion 71 XG casting reels that I fish weightless Zoom lizards & 5" Senkos with no problem what so ever. I also bottom fish with 3/16 & 1/4 oz. Texas, Carolina rigs, jigs, spinnerbaits. Every once in a while I'll go as high as 3/8 oz. The rod is rated from 1/4 to #/4 oz. lures. I have no problem with any of the rigs I mentioned above. If I want to use a 1/8 oz weight or a split shot I use spinning gear. I hope this helps you some.
  8. I have Several custom rods & 3 different series of Dobyns Rods. 100% Shimano Reels
  9. Dobyns CHAMPION XP 744C
  10. Send it back for a replacement. It's brand new & you attempt to repair it & it fails you own it. At the very least contact St. Croix customer service.
  11. I would get a 4 power rod for bottom fishing. Texas & Carolina rigs, Jigs. Moving baits i in medium cover like Buzz & spinner baits, Chatter baits, swimbaits. I saw where T/W has this rod on sale that fits your price range. Dobyns Kaden Casting Rod 7'4" Hvy.
  12. Try a cinch knot & put a drop of super glue on the knot. It will not slip then.
  13. I would go with M/M with Sufix Advance Hyper Copolymer 12 lb Test.
  14. This is easy for me. I would fish with a weightless 5" watermelon red senko. Rigged on a Dobyns Champion Extreme HP DX 743C FH with a Shimano 21 Scorpion DC XG. Line would be 16 lb test Daiwa J Fluoro Samurai Hidden Concept with a 4/0 Trokar EWG Hook. This is a excellent combination. It would be very easy to fish with it all day.
  15. Do that here & you just might attract a gator.
  16. Call Shimano tell what reel you have & ask what handles fit.
  17. When I started fishing I don't remember reels having gear ratio's my Dad just put line on them & we went fishing in the Great South Bay & if I remember right the line was some kind of twine. After graduation from high school I went in the Navy & ended up on Submarines. After 10 years & 3 boats in New London Conn. I received orders to the U.S.S. Thornback SS 418 in Charleston S.C When I met the Chief of the boat the 1st question was do I fish. From that day on we were fishing buddies & when we were import we spent a lot of time on Santee Cooper. I had no gear so the COB & I went to the Navy Exchange & Bought my gear. The reels I bought were ( which I still have) were Garcia Ambassadeur 5001C Gear ratio was 3.8:1 which was high speed at that time. Several years later Shimano came out with the Bantam Magnumlite GT Plus Extra High Speed Retrieve reel. Gear ratio of 5.2:1 & weight of 7.9oz. Then came the Curado Bantam CU 201 gear ratio 6.2:1 Then the Shimano Calais Series of which I have a dozen of in various speeds. I do have 4 of the 201 A & 2 DC7's rigged & on deck all the time. I do own newer Shimano reels that have the higher speeds but I lean to the Calais series. It was 1969 When I started Bass fishing & have caught many, many bass using those lower gear ratio reels. The key is using a good rod that has a good parabolic taper. That will keep them pinned. I bottom fish in heavy cover 90% of the time.
  18. Zelmo , I use the Champion XP DC 705 CB for jerkbaits & find it to be a excellent rod for that purpose. They do make that same in a glass version it's the DC 705 CB Glass. I prefer the graphite rod over the glass. They are on sale now at T/W & ALF
  19. I own 3 of them. You did not mention what you want to use it for. This is what Dobyns recommends Primary: Buzzbaits / Horny Toads / Jigs / Senkos / Small Swimbaits / Spinnerbaits. Secondary: Chatterbaits/ Spooks They are excellent rods I use mine for Texas & Carolina rigs, weightless Senkos, & spinner & chatterbaits mostly. The XP DC 733 C could option also. If you still find them on sale grab one. try https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/ or https://www.americanlegacyfishing.com/ maybe you will find one.
  20. For the Reel I would get the 21 Scorpion DC. It has The I-DC 5 braking system instead of the 4 & has a lite spool for better casting distance. I have 2 of them & love them. They are excellent reels The price changes depending on the value of the dollar Vs. the yen. Once you place your order the price is locked in. The 2 places I check I use have free shipping by Fedex. I have mine in 4 or 5 days. I always use Pay Pal as they prefer it & it goes faster.
  21. It's a good thing to fish into the wind which causes a current which the fish face into. This way they will also see your lure sooner. If your boat drifts over them it creates a shadow & noise right over them.
  22. I agree on what has been said above about the Champion XP DC734 C. I have a couple of them & rotate spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, chatterbaits, & weighted swim baits thru them. This rod is a excellent fit for these baits, you will not go wrong with this rod especially at the price you can get one for during the black Friday sales.
  23. Have you looked into to the the Champion XP DC 610 4C ? It is designed for skipping. I have a couple of this rod & have found to be useful for much more than just skipping. I like the rod is 6' 10" too.
  24. With the sales going on I would consider the Extreme HP series, the sensitivity is very good. I use the DX743 C FH for weightless baits, light weight Texas rigs & light spinner baits. The DX 744 C FH is a excellent all around rod. The DX 745 C FH I use for toads & Carolina rigs, jigs. I fish these rods 99% of the time for weightless & bottom fishing because of the sensitivity. For moving baits I use the Champion XP series most of the time for it saves a few bucks & the fish tend to hit them harder. I will say I am very impresses with Extreme HP series. I have & used The Champion XP series For several years & did fine. A couple of years ago ago I got into the position where I could belly up to the bar & pick up a few of the Extreme HP series So when I have some extra cash I put it away & wait for a sale & pick a HP. I feel you would be happy with either of these series.
