  1. Great patterns, very nice work.
  2. If you do a search for Paul Jensen or Jensen Jigs, he makes the kind your talking about. Nice stuff too. His regular rabbit hair jigs work great in spring also.
  3. Cool video. Very informative about fishing in general, not just how to catch.
  4. loctiite super glue gel. works great.
  5. I always check shallow, around the 45-50 range I'll check some deep spots also. Blade baits and spoons are a lot of fun.
  6. X3 If it's a steady partner and a team tournament, no problem. If it's a draw tournament, ask, but don't be surprised if the boater says no. Some anglers spend a lot of time and money prefishing. Just my .02 though.
  7. Spook or a Pop R, I let the fish choose which one. :-?
  8. I know guys throw them all year, but for me it's early spring only. For now, I would try deeper weed edges and drops coming off shallow flats. Points also. Sorry, don't use them that much after April.
  9. Use them all the time. Gold Blue Fox Vibrax or black Panther Martin. They're great for largemouth and smallies.
  10. I tend to use smaller baits in ponds. 1/8 spinnerbaits, 1/4 and 1/8 traps. Inline spinners also (the go to bait when all else fails).
  11. Been using 10 and 12 Yo Zuri, no complaints.
  12. I spooled up 2 baitcasters with the green and really like it. I've also been using it as leaders for my spinning outfits with braid on them. Green is the way to go. It covers all the bases.
  13. At a local pond with the same colored water, we' ve been catching on spinnerbaits w/ gold blades, rattle traps, small jerkbaits and in line spinners. This all started this week, last week they were hitting frogs and senkos. These were largemouth, but I'm sure the same will work for the smallies. They have for me before.
  14. Sammy's are a good choice. I've caught some of my biggest smallies on spooks.
  15. Spinnerbaits been workin real good here, especially w/ the wind.
  16. If you don't mind and can handle it, so can the fish.
  17. I keep it simple also. A few spinnerbaits in different styles, same with cranks, topwaters and jerkbaits. A binder for worms, 1 for creature baits and hula grubs, 1 for tubes and reg. grubs and 1 for misc. Thats it.
  18. I know on some of the small ponds on Long Island, the frog bite was great the last 2 weeks. This week it switched to spinnerbaits. Jerkbaits could work, but its just something else to try. Unless your trying to learn a specific bait, bring a bunch of different ones and try them until something works. Just my .02.
  19. Definitely the yellow flourescent.
  20. Some fish will move shallow, but some also stay with the deeper weed, as long as its green. You can catch bass in the deeper green grass (10-12ft) well into late October. After that, the water tends to get too cold and a lot (not all) the fish move to the deeper humps and stucture in 18-30ft. That's when the spoons and blade baits come out. At certain times, shad and baitfish ball up on the offshore structure and the fishing can be phenominal.
  21. Congrats, nice job.
  22. Nice baits! I like the bent frames. Great color patterns.
  23. TX Rigged 5" Senko I flip brush hogs, my son flips senko's right beside me with the same results. They go through heavy veg. really good also.
