Most Terrifying Fishing Experience?
My partner falling in the water during early spring. Water temps in low 40's if I remember correctly. We were dressed with coveralls, boots, and a lot of clothes. The current was moving the boat and him away from each other. The net was barely long enough that he got a hand on it before he went under the 3rd time. If I would have got the throw cushion and threw it to him it would have been too late. The good Lord looking out for us because one second longer and it would have been too late. Scared him so much that he has not been fishing since that incident a few years ago.

Lowrance Hds 10 Waypoint Sharing
I am trying to share waypoints between a HDS10 with a lmc520C unit. The HDS10 is using a LSS2 structure scan box. I have the two units linked together with an ethernet cable. I want to be able to push waypoint on either unit and it share it with the other unit. What am I missing? Thanks

2002 Ranger Battery Issue
Part number is Deka 27m6 C.C.A 840 and M.CA 1050. He charges them using a 3 bank charger at the same time he charges trolling motors. Also, he has two breaker switches that he flips off when he puts boat back on trailer.

2002 Ranger Battery Issue
I would agree about being a bad battery. However, this is a second set with the same problem. Might be another bad battery but I would think that would be highly unlikely. Thanks

2002 Ranger Battery Issue
My fishing buddy is having an on going issue with his Ranger and the batteries going dead. He has a 2002 518vx with a 200hp yamaha. He has brand new Deka Marine batteries Group 27. He has an HDS 10 and a HDS 5 up front. We fish a lot and at the end of the day his motor is dragging and barely starting. We have been stranded a few times. His dad has a newer Ranger that is also having battery issues. He has a Humminbird 898 with Deka Marine batteries Group 29. Is this a Ranger problem? Any suggestions? How do the guys that are running 2 HDS 10's or bigger keep their batteries up during an 8 hour tournament? Thanks

Wilson Frazier Sonar And Gps Dvds
I have a few of his DVDs and they really helped him a lot. I watched Sonar 101/201 and GPS 101/201. I have not watched the one he does on side imaging. I also have "Bass Under Glass" from Ben Parker that has helped me some. I have a Humminbird 798 and some of the things Wilson Frazier was talking about was for the Lowrance units. However, the basics of sonar and gps applies to no matter what unit you have. The thing most helpful to me was about going back to your waypoints using GPS. I found it difficult to get directly back to my spot on spot until I applied some of his theory. Worth the money if you are a complete beginner. Some of the more advanced people might think the things he teaches are elementary.

Water In Fuel Mariner
I have 2 tanks on the boat. A 17 gallon under my seat and a 34 gallon in the back compartment. I don't have time to really diagnose and go through all the troubleshooting. I carried to shop this afternoon. Will keep people posted. Thanks for all the replies.

Water In Fuel Mariner
I have a 1997 Mariner 150HP EFI. Boat has been running a little rough lately. A few times it would just start acting like it was running out of gas. I would switch tanks and the boat would run great for a few trips and start doing it again. It has a factory installed oil type water/fuel seperator mounted on the side of engine. I have owned this boat for a few years and I have used ethanol free gas always. The previous owner only used ethanol free gas as well. I pulled the filter off today and poured the fuel in a glass jar. It did have some water in the filter so I do see it is doing its job. This is the first time I have pulled this filter since I have owned the boat. Could this be the problem? How much water in that filter is normal? I want to avoid carrying to the shop if this is an easy fix. Should I siphon all the gas out and try a new filter and new gas?

Help With My First Pointer
I am wanting to buy a new jerkbait, specifically a LC pointer. I fish mainly the Tennessee river chain from wheeler to pickwick. There are so many choices I don't know what to get. Can someone give me some advice on a good choice to start with?

Best Rain Gear
I own a set of frog toggs firebelly series that worked great for 3 months. Now I get wet if it is barely raining. I recently purchased BPS 100 mph suit and I love it. Wish I would have bought it in the first place instead of trying to save money. By far the best investment I have made in bass fishing. I fish 12 months out of the year. My fishing partner has had his for years and it still keeps him dry. Don't skimp. Get BPS 100 mph suit or Cabelas guide gear that others on here talk about.

Favorite Fluro???
I used viscous for a while and liked it. I tried other brands that didn't break the bank and none of them seemed as sensitive to me as viscous. The diameter of the other lines were smaller though. At the beginning of this year I switched to sunline super floro and I will not be going back. You can buy a 200 yard spool for $15. It is more sensitive to me than viscous and the diameter of 16lb is about the same size a most 12lb monos.

Rod Suggestions For Umbrella Rig
I throw mine on a powell diesel 7'6". It is only rated for 1.25 oz but it works great for me. I only paid $50 for this rod so if it breaks oh well.

Fc For Umbrella Rig
I had a lot of bites last year on a rig. I used braid and I don't recall losing any fish. This past weekend I used 20 lb sunline FC and I lost 2 fish back to back. It could have been user error, however my confidence in FC for this technique is done. I am switching back to braid. In my opinion I think you need the lack of stretch to get a great hook set. Confidence is key.

Tying Jigs
I have been tying jigs with thread. I really like the fact that the skirt will not spin after it is finished. I asked a question a couple months back about tying with wire. It seemed everyone liked it due to the speed. That is a drawback with tying with thread because I am so meticulous it takes longer. I went today and bought some wire that others suggested. My problem is when I get it finished the skirt will spin just like if you were using the bands. Is that normal? Or should I tighten it more to eliminate the skirt spinning? Just don't want to break the skirt.

Trokar Jig Mold Vs Flat Eye Jig Mold
How do you like this jig compared to a regular football jig?

Trokar Jig Mold Vs Flat Eye Jig Mold
I fish a lot of football jigs. I have an old mold that takes a 90 degree Aberdeen hook. My fishing partner has the mold that takes the flat eye. I like the way the trokar football mold looks with the flat spot on bottom. I also use a brush jig mold for a sometimes standup presentation (doubt it really stands up that much). How would you compare the trokar jig mold to the flat eye jig mold?

Football Jigs With Flatline Rubber

Football Jigs With Flatline Rubber
I want to build a mop style jig. Is the flatline rubber from fishingskirts a good choice? Should I add in silicone tabs for extra color? If so, how many tabs of each do u prefer with this style of jig?
