  1. how would you enforce this? how many boats have speedometers? of the ones that do. how accurate are they?
  2. It maybe a little more costly but it will be a heck of a lot easier. Pick up a 20lb co2 tank. There are adapters and regulators available to just about anything you want. I have one setup is use to clean out servers and PCs at client locations. Much cheaper than those cans of dust off. A refill of a 20lb co2 is only $20. I also have one setup to inflate car and truck tires. this is must faster than any compressor out there. with the three items below you can inflate anything you need. The are not mine just using as a source of reference. you can buy from any industrial supply. http://cgi.ebay.com/20-lb-CO2-Tank-Steel-Fresh-Hydro-Kegerator-Homebrew-/270781911846?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0bdc1326 http://cgi.ebay.com/Taprite-C02-Regulator-model-3741-/290590434308?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43a88a2404 http://cgi.ebay.com/COIL-AIR-HOSE-BLOW-GUN-and-AIR-TOOL-ACCESSORIES-ne-/140583719175?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20bb715107 Just turn the regulator output to desired psi put the blow gun, with mattress inflator, on valve and inflate. should inflate your boat in a minute.
  3. generally you will burn 10% of horsepower, in gallons, of fuel at WOT. So, 10% of 90HP is 9 gallons an hour at WOT.
  4. Nope. NJ has a lot more HP restricted lakes.
  5. follow the white wire from the plug to the ground screw on the van.
  6. you also need a the white wire grounded to your tow vehicle. You can not rely on the ball and coupler alone.
  7. There should be a white wire going from the trailer to the tow vehicle. you should not rely on the ball and the coupler to provide ground. to check run a wire from each tail light ground to a ground on the tow vehicle.
  8. Interesting. The blinking is controlled by the flasher in the tow vehicle. I agree with the others. Check the trailer wiring. The LEDs need a really good ground to work properly.
  9. Does your trailer have separate brake and turn signal bulbs? Most trailer lights use an 1157 bulb. The brake light and turn signal use the same element in the bulb. Maybe your right brake light is burned out. Does the left light blink when you step on the brake?
  10. Once a year over the winter. I only repack. I will only replace when they show signs of wear. If you care for them properly you may never have to replace. I do replace seals when they look bad or if there is grease on the back of the wheel.
  11. This is how PA does it as well. The title shows who owns the trailer. You should never buy a trailer with out a title, EVER. The registration just shows who the trailer is registered to. This can be different than the owner. Just like leased cars. You can buy a trailer with no or expired registration. The title is what you need. A homemade or kit trailer, Harbor Freight, is a little tough in PA. Pictures need to be taken, it needs to be weighed, taken to an inspection station and paperwork filled out. It can be done though.
  12. These came out when the PWM. Pulse width modulation, first came out and before they were built into the motors. They work great. it is the same as this. http://cgi.ebay.com/12V-30A-360W-DC-Motor-Speed-Control-PWM-Controller-/140552769738?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20b99910ca but made by minnkota.
  13. This is not my auction and I do not know the guy selling it. I have seen posts from people who asked if they could do this. MinnKota does not make these any more and they only turn up on ebay once in a blue moon, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MAXIMIZER-MINN-KOTA-ELECRONIC-POWER-CONTROLLER-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem564438e370QQitemZ370511766384QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  14. I have the same box. Have you tried contacting minnkota? they may just send you one. http://www.minute-man.com/acatalog/Push_Button_Circuit_Breakers.html
  15. In PA the process is not that hard and wont cost that much. The only extra cost would be to have the trailer weighed. The local place did it for free for me. My regular mechanic also filled out the form for free for me. here is the process. http://www.cesmithco.com/Powerstore/register/Pennsylvania.pdf
  16. If you buy this trailer from harbor freight. Make sure you lubricate the bearings. They DO NOT have grease on them.
  17. I have the minnkota version. I have my gas motor hooked up under the lid. I have everything else hooked to the external terminals so the are protected by the built in breaker. http://store.minnkotamotors.com/products/418930/Trolling_Motor_Power_Center
  18. Maybe a loose connection on the LCD display or a bad section on the display. Try adjusting the contrast to total dark and see if they turn on. I am sure if it is a current model the manufacture can repair it.
  19. I use one for my Kayak and small boat.
  20. In general yes. Just add the jumper for the third battery. If your wire is the appropriate size for the 24v motor you should be good for the 36v motor. A 36v motor will draw less current than a 24v motor of the same thrust rating.
  21. Please do not do this. This is not the way to find out what fuse goes in there. Fuse size is based on wire size. 15 amp for 14 awg 20 amp for 12 awg 30 amp for 10 awg 40 amp for 8 awg 50 amp for 6 awg If you put the correct fuse for the wire in there and it blows you need to move up in wire size. The connector in the third picture does need to be replaced.
  22. I would recommend a Ocean Kayak Prowler Big Game. http://www.oceankayak.com/kayaks/angler_editions/prowler_big_game.html
