If you could buy one high end rod and reel setup, what would it be for?
That rod looks like it’s got some decent power in the butt end for a rod that can whip out a 1/32 oz lure @bulldog1935. That’s a sweet setup. Good luck with it.

I just bought Daiwa Tatula CT Casting Reel
It’s funny you posted this, I was reading the “user’s guide” and it mentioned that you set the tension just enough where you take the side to side play out of it. If I’m reading your posts correctly your suggesting to leave a little side play? Sorry, not trying to beat s dead horse here. ?

I just bought Daiwa Tatula CT Casting Reel
I'm so glad I stumbled upon this post. I got 2 Daiwa Rods for Christmas and just had to order 2 Daiwa BC's. Just came in today. Unfortunately we're iced in...I'll leave them in the box to keep the dust off them til ice out. ? Good luck with them!

Diamond Jigs
Are you fishing diamond jigs with treble hooks or single @Guitarfish? Dressed hook? I was doing more research and it seems like a single hook with a surgical tube dressing it is SOP for the species I'm targeting. I added tubes to 2 of them, really changes the lures profile. Just wanted to get your opinion.

Terminology
Back in the 90's you dressed a plain (name your style jig head) with a hula skirt and single tail grub. Not much later the double tail grub was added instead of the ingle tail grub. Finally in smallie country the spider jig reigned supreme and you had the hula skirt and grub in 1 lure. ?

question for those using snaps/clips
Thanks man, I appreciate it. I gave out too many “likes” and I’m out. Will catch up later. ?

Heavier Inline Spinners
Sorry I missed your post @Jmoney402. I didn’t know you were replicating something. What you need is a finesse weight like a mojo rig weight. Try tackle warehouse https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Phenix_Vengeance_Finesse_Slider_Weights/descpage-PVS.html

Drop Shot weights
Just noticed I installed the weight upside down...? Oh well. You get the idea

Guess the Weight
Hey bud, call it a 5 and a great experience to remember.

my "next new thing" lure for the coming year.
Topwater dog walking bait? Buzzbait?
-
Drop Shot weights
Not sure if this will help but here it goes: Overhand knot forming a loop: Thread loop thru weight and split ring Fold end loop over split ring and pull split ring tight

So get more spinnerbaits instead of spinnerbait skirts...?

The "Dot" on a Crankbait
I don't fish crankbaits much anymore but was hoping you could answer this question? Back in the day crankbait manufacturers would paint a "dot" on the bait supposedly because predator fish would attack the eye of baitfish. The added "dot" was to draw attention to the strike zone further back on the bait? Is that still a thing?

The official "Who's drinking tonight?" thread
Yeah, I can see why. One of those drinks that don't taste quite god enough to have multiple drinks...In other words, perfect for last night. ?

HAPPY NEW YEAR
There were plenty of predictions that 2020 was going to be a baby boom year...? Congrats JF

The official "Who's drinking tonight?" thread
Just a couple of Evan Williams on the rocks last night, nothing special. Fell asleep early. If I started on the Miller Lites, I'd probable would have drank the lake dry...?

What do you guys think about my injury situation and fishing?
I wish I knew how to listen to my body when I was younger and heed he advice of a professional. I always had the mentality that you should "push on and get thru it" only to find out that the old injuries come back and haunt you later in life. You were born with a healthy body @pauldconyers, do the right thing and keep it that way. I know way to many guys who regret "push on and get thru it".

Fish species you've never caught?
Like @TnRiver46 Muskie is on my bucket list. For saltwater either a Bluefin Tuna or Mako Shark.

New years resolution thread
I'm like you @jbsoonerfan, no resolutions here but this year will be different for me. I have a new rig being shipped up in February and this year I really want to focus on saltwater fishing. I'm learning all I can about techniques, studying maps, youtubing about the electronics that is coming with the boat and have signed up the family for a boaters safety class. If you want to call it a resolve, it's to hunt for Black Sea Bass, Stripe Bass and Bluefish. My father will be 82 in a couple of months and loves a good freshly caught fish. His health probably won't allow him to join me on the boat but I hope to join him and my mother at the table this summer.

Post a photo a day!
That water is way too clear...Let's hope the image doesn't get larger when you click on it. Not a good visual going into 2021...Thanks for that A-Jay...?
