  1. Just my opinion but they took the worst aspect of the edge and put it on this box. One piece latch doesn't always grab on both sides.
  2. Agreed the high end of the weights you'll throw plus the trailers will be around and ounce so plan for that.
  3. So we all know the 873 is a legend as far as dragging jigs. I'm not in a place to get an 873 right now. The 874 in the GLX and IMX lines seem to have the same specs as the 873, the GLX is even labeled as a CRR like the 873. Has anyone fished them and do they have the same bend/characteristics as the 873? Thank you
  4. Out of Massena fish the little cuts and channels from Croil Island to the dam (down river)

  7. Reach out to him he'll hook it up. His name is Nihad (knee had).
  8. I like the St Croix BassX for the money. Pretty parabolic, cheap and not ugh heavy. I have the Heavy and XX Heavy models and they are good. I Also have the Tatula 79 H swimbait rod. Your weight range is tough for one rod though let alone single hook vs hardbait. Douglas is blowing out their LRS swimbait rods pretty cheap at the moment. Nice rods as well. Irods are really nice too Levante Leviathan is a great treble rod in your weight range, although 5+oz is pushing it.

  10. I like higher end gear but will it make you a stud? No. We have a guy up here Bryan Labelle. 25 Mlf tournaments 11 top tens, 2 wins, $184k in winnings. 4 Bassmaster events, 4 checks, 1 win, 2 top 10's and $60k in winnings. Dude uses Ugly Sticks (Walmart type) and straight braid, even drop shotting. Bass photo guy came over to do the gear pix and looked at his gear and was like "ehhh let's just look at the baits." Lol Some folks have it, some don't, gear isn't the difference. But... for us that aren't of that caliber, it sure makes it enjoyable.

Watch all the recent tackle shack tx, and homeless fisherman videos on YouTube. They go to a ton of shops. You can get some ideas on baits and places. If you find Geecrack Go Chatters message me and I'll venmo 🤪.
  12. 7.2 lm. On a Fat Ika 6.1 sm. On a Speedcraw
  13. Phil Wood Grease this stuff is amazing on gears. Suspension fork grease (slickoleum friction reducing grease) is good on worm gears as it's super thin but won't drip out. Tsi321 on bearings Cals on drag if you grease the washers
  14. I'm on Champlain and the St Lawrence. Totally fine. I'd say slightly harder than sniper
  15. Application wise they are parallels. Great dragging rods.
  16. The 74HF is closer to a perfect pitch. 73Hxf is like a lighter power Brailist.
  17. Sniper is a little harder and less stretchy. It wouldn't be a proper post if I didn't suggest one you aren't looking at. Daiwa J Flouro is pretty sweet too.
  18. You can also frame a house with a rock instead of a hammer. Doesn't mean a rock is better.
  19. Red disappears but waaaaaay deeper than the advertisements tell you. It's like over 50ft down.
  20. Simms dry creek gear bag is my favorite.
  21. Pretty compressive list above Mid sized Spro Rat Black Dog Shellcracker G2 Buzzjet Are my favorites
  22. Only thing I can think of not mentioned above is your leader knot being big or having long tag ends. Fill the spool and don't use a leader and give it another try. I use loooooong leaders to help with this. By the time the lure is 40ft away and the leader knot starts hitting the guides the lure has slowed down enough that if the knot made a difference it won't be much. But that's neither here nor there until you figure out the amount of line etc on the reel.
  23. Tackle Shack TX on YouTube is in the middle of a series of fishing Biwa and tackle shops in those areas.
  24. Spinning reel stands are great.
