At this time of the year I do well on spinnerbaits and jerkbaits. Soft plastic fishing has been way 2 slow for me.

I m talking about rainbow trouts bigger than 3 pounds. What lures ( colors,sizes) do u recommend? I want 2 give a shot 2 trout fishing this year.

I use colorado black nickel blades for night spinnerbaits. My favourite is deep cup style.

I totally agree with RW . Where I fish anything bigger than 6lb is rare. Got 2 since march both on soft plastics. If I used swimbaits fishing was going 2 be extremely slow. As RW said:

I do this cause I can cover water faster

Here is what I do: I start with heavier T-rig .If i dont get bites I decrease the weight and If I still dont get bites then I switch to weigtless T-rig Experiment every time 2 find what they prefer.
