  1. I fished the daylights out of my two last summer and no problems at all. Both of mine are 8.5:1. Very smooth. Currently they are still on Carbonlite 7' MH rods waiting to go at it again if the weather would cooperate.
  2. Everyone has a favorite site they use with which to post pics on here. I am looking to change mine and am curious as to what others use and like. I currently use TinyPic and sometimes it works and sometime it does not.
  3. I can't pitch worth a darn because I fish such open spanses of grass beds I never have to be that precise. A regular cast to a particular spot on a bed edge, no problem. When I try it to see if I can pitch for kicks, it is pathetic.
  4. Shimano has good videos on their web site on reel cleaning. If you do not have Shimanos no problem, the techniques are the same for most reels.
  5. I have serious eye problems (with one I have left) and my eye surgeon told me to wear brown or amber and I now use amber and love it.
  6. Stick a Senko in your pocket, go to Home Depot or Lowes, pick out an ORing size that slides on the worm and buy a bunch for a couple of bucks. BTW, the O rings go on easier with a little scent jel of some kind on the worm, but you may want to apply the scent jel after you buy the O rings and not before you put the worm in your pocket (but a baggy works then)LOL
  7. And hit something like the tidal Potomac and start learning all over again.
  8. I would guess there are not many weightless Senkos thrown for a salt water fish, I have never fished salt water.
  9. Sufix 832 50lb for frogging. Three years now.
  10. With all of the fancy new Shimanos I have, I still love to fish with my Curado 100B's. They are so effortless and do not require constant tuning for results. Like they have a mind of their own.
  11. I am not very scientific when it come to setting drag. I wrap the line around my hand, pull slowly, see how it feels until it is about the right feel and fish. Seems to have worked for years.?
  12. I know there are a ton of anglers who love braid, but I gave it up except for my frog set up and do quite well with mono and flouro. I just got tired with messing with it at inopportune times.
  13. Big Sharpies and after you apply it, it will run like crazy through out the plastic.
  14. Just watched a video on jigs and the fellow said there five basic types of jigs: Swim jig Flipping jig Finesse jig Football jig Arky jig (best all around) He is talking pure jig and not baits like chatter baits.
  15. Didn't we just finish a huge line spooling thread last week?
  16. Gosh, my Frog Toggs are 16 years old and hanging in there. But then, at my age I have given up fishing in down pours and I am sure the current edition to what I have is far superior then mine.
  17. My plastics have always been kept in Plano 3600 boxes for years out of the pac and never dry out. The box with bubble gum worms has some 5-6 years old since it is not a frequent use color. Still good as new.
  18. There is only one and it is under the spool bearing in the handle cover. By the way, it is the same bearing as the drive shaft bearing. No idea about any problems, I have three K's I fished heavily last summer. In January I did my annual strip and clean and the X ship bearings were just fine. These are not a high speed bearing as your spool bearings, just for additional pinion stability, so if any one is trying to get them to spin freely for 10 minutes it is not going to happen.?
  19. Before using the Alabama rig on a body of water check with authorities on if they are allowed. They are a no no on the tidal Potomac.
  20. I have something similar to these, except they are black plastic with a wire line clip and I cannot remember where in heck I got them, but boy are they handy. Before I had them I did what Defoe does, except I put my loop over the reel handle.
  21. Recommend a uni knot for everything. I have 15lb Invizx flouro on 15 baitcasters fishing the tidal Potomac in some really heavy junk and have never broken off with the uni knot, no matter which bait I have on, nor has it ever presented a casting issue.
  22. Before the days of braid and flouro carbon, I fished with three lines: 8lb mono on my spinning reels (still do) 14lb mono on my baitcasters for everything except 20lb mono on a frog rod. Put 12 or 14lb mono on your baitcasters and go fish.
  23. A grenade..Very effective always.??????
  24. Don't understand the comment on zip lock bags. I have had extra plastics of all kinds in zip lock bags for years and they are just fine. Some are soaking in a scent
