  1. Denver traded away one of their few good weapons on offense, one of their best weapons on the D-line, and several high draft picks. Russ couldn't do anything with the weapons he had at Seattle, not sure if he'll have enough at Denver either. At least he'll have a defense that'll keep the games a little closer.
  2. I bought a factory second legend glass and it's been perfect
  3. A Gulp/power minnow/twitchtail minnow on a 1/16 or 1/8oz jighead just cast and swam back was my Ned rig before I knew what a Ned rig was.
  4. Damiki is more vertical though, sounds like Christie is talking about casting to fish he can see in front of him and the bait is almost hovering in front of them.
  5. They have for Black Friday but other than that it's only in store sales.
  6. I pick up bobbers and donate them to kids fishing derbies.
  7. I use a lot of the 6th Sense Provoke 106, Strike King 300, and Duo Realis Rozante 77sp. The H2O is a great bait to learn with because they're cheaper so you don't have to worry as much about losing them but they're still very effective. Yo-Zuri makes a bait that is flat on the sides that has a very nice roll and flash that I've had a lot of success with as well.
  8. Looks a lot like a Berkley Power minnow/Twitchtail minnow. I'm sure it doesn't literally sit in one spot, but likely with a light jighead combined with braided line it has somewhat of a parachute effect that sort of hovers the bait in the fish's face. Pretty similar to how I fish a Ned rig with the swim-shake-glide retrieve. Moves so slowly and looks defenseless so the fish can't help themselves.
  9. Happens like clockwork every year ?
  10. Big pet peeve is when they make the clicking/cranking noise when reeling a modern spinning or casting reel that wouldn't make the noise ?
  11. Only allowed to have a little bit with work, more than in the past but not much. Bad thing is to have facial hair, we have to have a mustache, which I don't like having. It doesn't help that my facial hair grows in red and looks kind of silly with my hair being brown.
  12. Don't usually catch any crappie out of this lake, but I caught 2 Saturday, both on a Vision 110. This big black crappie makes that 110 look pretty small. Didn't measure it, but I'd guess it was in the 13-14 inch range. Sitting in just a few feet of water along the edge of a grass covered island.
  13. At LOZ, head right up to the tailwaters and fish shad profile cranks along the riprap, or jigs with grubs/swimbait bodies. Lipless baits can work well also.
  14. The 795 says it's rated to 5oz, but it feels overloaded with anything much over 3oz. You'll want something heavier for the BBZ 8".
  15. Kind of what a lot of guys do bed fishing ? I might have watched 5 minutes total of Classic coverage. Everything I saw of Christie he was flipping docks with jigs. YUM might be releasing a new bait and just wanted him to mention it because they know that's all it takes for a bait to take off for at least a while.
  16. 15-20lb mono or copolymer.
  17. You'll be fine. If it's bad I'd blame it more on the full moon than the cold front.
  18. I have both, they don't really act anything alike. The Jabber Jaw swims more like a regular squarebill, the Axis wanders all over the place.
  19. If I'm going to find a house brand bait, I'd prefer it be H2O baits.
  20. Jigs took me a long while to learn, then it was the bladed jigs after that. Oddly enough now they're a couple of my favorite baits. The drop shot was another that took me a long time to get the hang of.
  21. It took me a minute to process what he said because of the absurdity. I'd already caught several fish off that part of the dock though so I was about done there and didn't want to argue. We're not allowed to fish by gas pump docks for obvious reasons, or pay fishing docks, but the other marina docks are fair game. I leave them alone if someone wants to make a scene though, I'll catch fish somewhere else over dealing with that.
  22. Got out and caught a bunch of fish Saturday, but couldn't find the big fish. A Vision 110, Top Shelf line thru swimbait, bladed jig, and Spro Rock Crawler did most of the damage. Sunday I got out for a couple hours on the local pond to test my kayak depthfinder to make sure it's actually working since getting it back from Lowrance. It worked great, water was nasty though and only caught one tiny one. I did manage to find a boat I didn't know about though.
  23. I got yelled at once by a slip renter because my trolling motor prop was "A danger to the cables". Apparently my plastic trolling motor prop was going to cut that several thousand pound strength braided steel cable ?
  24. That's right, I think I do remember that now that you mention it. They only have the fishing and boating permits and no option to skip out on the trout permit because I didn't want it last time I bought a permit out there. @HaydenS you don't need a state trout permit out there if that's what your buddy bought. If he wants to trout fish he should go to Lake Shawnee in Topeka. They stock way more big ones there.
