I like a Slammer in dirty water. I don't worry about what baitfish they're chasing. It's like any other bait, where you fish it matters a lot more than the color of the bait.

Yeah, those will work. I make very light ones with large hooks to keep them from snagging in the rocks and fit the big worms.

I prefer the standard Ol' Monster to the mag. Most of the extra size is just in the tail and I don't get any bigger bites on the mag than the standard, I just get fewer baits per pack. I really like big straight tail worms during the summer when everyone else is fishing swimming tail worms. Worms like the YUM Mightee worm 10.5" and Strike King 10" Bull Worm on a special swinging football head that I make for them.

Been on a multispecies tear lately.

I use 8lb Tatsu on my 3000 and it handles it great, even when it's really cold out and the line gets stiffer.

Only have a couple experiences with the Tourney Special rods, none of them were good ones. The H20 rods from Academy are great rods for the money and can be had in that price range. Not sure if they have a 6' 6" MH/F though. The Daiwa Arid is another I'd highly recommend if there's a rod with those specs.

If stored properly, mono line can last a long time without breaking down. However, the stuff is cheap and I wouldn't chance a big fish to an old spool of line.

That's why I use backing with fluoro. Fill the spool about half full with cheap mono, then the rest with fluoro.

I'll make the trip back to the ramp if possible, if not I carry TP in the boat and do some hiking until I find an acceptable leaning tree. Nothing brings you in touch with nature quite like it.

Saw a post about them awhile back, someone found a few at Academy. None at the stores by me. A few still available by that link, ordered one to try. It's an interesting concept at the very least and they make good baits.

The Swimon is an awesome bladed jig trailer too. I always forget about it for some reason but then I open my box and see about 20 baits that have them rigged up as trailers ?

My BIL has a Nego I've thrown some, the action is very underwhelming, which is a good thing I guess because it saved me wanting to spend the money on one.

Spro Bronzeye Shad is the easiest to walk but I catch more fish with a Booyah Popping Pad Crasher and it's really easy to walk too.

The Booyah Covert series has a good trailer keeper. It's the single wire keeper but that style holds the trailer up really well for me.

I fish straight tail worms way more often than curly tail worms, and I fish them all year round. Only thing different is the worms get bigger during the summer months.

Last Sunday, my oldest asked me if I could take him fishing on my days off, can't say no to that right? Well my boat was still in the shop so we were going to be in the johnboat, and forecasted 25mph winds and gust to 40 didn't leave us much options come Wednesday afternoon. So the boys and I headed to a bigger creek with the johnboat and tub of nightcrawlers and some "catch anything", rods and lures. We caught a little bit of everything, avoided the wind thanks to the high banks and trees, and they played in the water like kids should get to do. Thursday I was back seating it. Fished with a guy that's been following my Youtube channel pretty much since I started it and has wanted to fish with me for a long time, and our schedules finally lined up so we went. Even with losing 2 big smallmouth, including one that was for sure over 4 pounds, he still had his best day for keeper sized smallmouth he's had. They really were loving the junebug TRD, which I did not bring, so I mostly caught a lot of smaller fish, netted fish and took pictures, and was just glad I wasn't in my johnboat as the 5-10mph winds that were forecast had some big rollers and white caps rolling down the lake. It was a big time multispecies day too. He'd never caught a walleye from this lake, he caught 2 this day. We caught 3 flatheads, several white bass, a couple sunfish, and several drum.

After my days off this week I'm up to 1,094 bass for the year.

A junebug TRD on a chartruese ned rig head was far and away the best color combo for us on Thursday.
