  1. I have around a half dozen Lightning Rods and Lightning Rod Shocks. Great rods for the money.
  2. Black and blue isn't just a dirty water color. It's a good swim jig color too.
  3. Z man Turbo CrawZ comes in Pearl or The Deal. Last way longer than most other craws so you're not changing out trailers all the time either.
  4. Fishing gear doesn't hold its value great, and if it does, you're not going to find enough of it to sell and make much profit.
  5. Made a quick little morning trip after work yesterday. I'd heard fish were bedding on this lake and guys were sight fishing. Probably were the day before when it hadn't rained almost an inch but I couldn't see more than a foot down so I was just fishing. It was still fun with 8 bass and 4 crappie including my first swimbait fish from this lake and first Slammer fish of the year.
  6. It happens like that sometimes. Sounds like you had the right combination of timing, presentation, and location to get a good bite. I caught 4 or 5 in about 10 minutes this morning off one spot and only 3 or 4 more the rest of the 2 hours I fished. Not sure why they liked that one spot but they did.
  7. Member Fish Chris (who hasn't been active for quite some time unfortunately), has a picture of a massive meanmouth he caught in California.
  8. A lot of my fishing pictures are starting to look like this one from this morning. If someone can ID where I am from this picture, more power to them.
  9. IMO, yes you do, just like every other jig. They'll work without them, but I have zero confidence without them.
  10. That was one thing they told me when I bought it, they're nearly impossible to cut. Just have to make sure I don't swell up again. Good incentive to keep myself in shape I suppose. I don't really see a wedding band as jewelry I guess. All the extra stuff isn't for me. I wear full sleeve uniforms at work all year round and everyone assumes I must have sleeve tattoos that I'm covering. Truth is I'm just always cold ? Don't have a single one and just not my thing. Nothing against them, I'd just rather spend that couple hundred dollars on a new reel and let my kids draw on me with a sharpie instead.
  11. I have one that's titanium already. It was pretty inexpensive and not flashy or anything like I wanted.
  12. My wife wanted to get me a thin blue line one. I already have a titanium ring, and although it about falls off if I'm not careful these days, I didn't see a need to buy another one to replace the one I have. As a fisherman, titanium just seems to make sense after all.
  13. I'd pass on that. I've used big millipedes for bluegills when I was a kid and they worked great but they don't bite like a centipede does.
  14. I've asked people to not share locations before. Lakes that are pounded is one thing, everyone knows where you were, but the smaller, less pressured lakes, I'd like to keep that way.
  15. Cicada Killers are different from these things. Cicada killers are native and have been here for a long time and as the name says, hunt mostly cicadas. The big issue with the Asian Giant Hornets is they hunt honey bees and would have no natural predators here. The European honey bees (what we have in North America) also don't know how to fight back against them like Asian honey bees do.
  16. I sold my E series Curados for about what I paid for them, even as used as they were. I've got some Pflueger Supreme XT casting reels that in very nice shape I've tried to sell a couple times for half price that get no interest, and that's one of their higher end reels. You have to decide to either eat the loss or go ahead and fish the reels. I'll keep fishing mine unless I see someone looking for them.
  17. My biggest swimbait bass was on a deadsticked Slammer. Felt like it sat for hours, but it was probably around a minute before she destroyed it.
  18. Call your game wardens. They can set up pretty solid sting operations on stuff like that to catch cheaters. If they find fish in the cooler, clip a small piece of tail fin from all the fish. Then the guys weigh in and the fish are confiscated and samples taken. DNA matches up, bam, cheaters are in the bag.
  19. Exactly. I remember it snowing on the 4th of May a pretty good amount here in NE KS a couple years ago. Last year it was barely above freezing through April, then it was in the 80's and 90's all May and rained a ton almost every day and the big lakes didn't make it back to normal pool until winter time. I can't ever remember an even tempered spring.
  20. Yes it is. I caught a much smaller one on Table Rock fishing with my family last summer. Many trips down there and this is only the third one I've caught.
  21. Welcome and thank you for your service!
  22. Welcome back!
  23. I carry a lot of jigging spoons, probably more than I should. They're very effective tools, especially during the cold water months and during the hottest months of the year.
  24. I've read that bass are less scared by gas motors than trolling motors because they're rarely caught when they hear the sounds of nearby gas motors vs trolling motors so they don't associate them with danger.
