  1. They were pretty consistently sold out on TW for awhile for a reason. I don't know the perfect conditions for them, but I know when they're working they can really be magic.
  2. I'll be up 10pm-6am like I am every night I'm working ?‍♂️ Everyone gets all excited about staying up late, it's not that exciting.
  3. I caught a lot of 4.5-4.75 pound fish this year, which isn't a bad thing I guess. For fish over 5 though, I caught them on; Yo-Zuri 3DR Vibe, Real Glass Minnow SK Tungsten 2Tap, Rayburn Red (BB of the year) Yo-Zuri 3DS Minnow 2.75", Holographic Ghost Shad Duo Realis Rozante 77, Neo Pearl (PB smallmouth) Homemade flipping jig/Christie Craw, black and blue Black Market Balsa squarebill, chart/black back Black Canoe Lure Co. squarebill, River minnow I caught a lot of fish over 4 on homemade jigs and bladed jigs, as well as a Big Bite Baits YoMomma, so those would be my picks for consistent quality fish.
  4. Twin tail grub or YUM Christie Craw.
  5. Welcome!
  6. My largemouth wasn't real special, right around 6.5 pounds on March 1st on a Rayburn Red Tungsten 2tap. The smallmouth was a special fish though. I've been trying for a decade and a half to break my 3 way tie for my smallmouth PB of 5 pounds even, and I smashed it by nearly a pound with a 5.83lb fish on May 10th on a Duo Realis jerkbait. Just a pound off the state record.
  7. Must be the same people who made the "dogs of law enforcement" calendar I got from my wife's grandparents for Christmas. It's mostly pugs and terriers ?‍♂️
  8. I use the group 31 Duracells and have been happy with them.
  9. I'm not sure that any scientific studies have been done, but bass certainly don't seem to react the same from what I can tell. Bass in southern states don't seem to tolerate cold very well, whereas fish in the northern states can be surprisingly active even when the water is near freezing. I'd guess that this is most likely due to necessity because of the shortened seasons. A fish in Texas can shut down for a while if the water cools off during a cold front because it will likely warm up again soon. A fish in Minnesota has a few short months to fit it's entire season into before the water cools off again and the lakes start to lock back up, so shutting down during a cool water period might not be as much of an option for them if they want to survive.
  10. There was smoke coming out of the stack but the outlet was only 44*, warmest I saw was 46 something by the ramp. Caught 5, had 6 for sure bites, biggest was 3.54lbs. Basically outlet across to the north park ramp up the river is an inch or two of visibility and 44* or less.
  11. La Cygne is a muddy mess today ?

  13. The thinner ones in hear are my 3/8oz swim jig heads that I tie my bladed jigs on. You couldn't turn the box upside down and expect none to fall out, but it sits on it's side in my boat's storage locker and none of them have fallen out yet.
  14. Yes, it can do it, but if that's going to be primarily what you're going to fish you might be better off going with the 6' 10" ML you mentioned. I fish a 6' 10" ML/XF LTB and it will do about anything.
  15. Jigs, dropshot weights/hooks, Ned rigs.
  16. I don't have the jig box, but the bladed jig box holds a thin, 3/8oz swim jig head fine.
  17. Loctite gel with the light grey bottle and blue cap, the last one that you had issues with apparently. I don't glue my Ned rigs anymore but when I did, that stuff works great. I still use it for gluing weedguards on my jigs and it holds those great too. I kept in in the center compartment in my boat and never had a cap come off or dry out. Tried a lot of different glues and never found one better.
  18. I pretty much grew up fishing mainly for catfish, a lot of that time at my grandparents pond since they watched me all week while my parents were at work. I can vividly remember this fish because I cast my grasshopper under a bobber out and from my perch on the high sand banks, I watched this dark shadow cruise across the entire pond, straight to my hopper before quickly plunking my bobber under the surface. I don't know if the splash attracted him, it was middle of the summer and the pond was always overgrown so maybe he'd learned that splashes meant dinner, but I couldn't believe the purpose that fish had immediately after my cast landed. I would have been 8 in this picture, already a seasoned veteran by then.
  19. No, this is a Toyota Camry
  20. Mr. Wile-E was real fast coming out of that ditch, too bad he waited until way too late to try to make his break for it. I've seen a ton of them run in front of me, first one I've ever hit. Too bad I was in my wife's car and not my truck ?‍♂️
  21. I use a 6' 8" M/F Mojo for wacky rigs and a variety of other baits. It's the last Mojo I've held onto because it's one of the most versatile spinning rods I've owned. It'll do the weightless baits, fishes a fluke or senko great, light T-rig, shakyhead, small cranks/topwater/jerks, nice tube rod, just a great all around rod.
  22. You can get some much better quality baits for a dollar or two more. If you don't fish them much, you don't need many. Get a couple white ones, and a couple chartreuse ones and you're pretty well set. Just an example, Academy sells the Wahoo brand spinnerbait that comes in a "pro" series that has a ball bearing swivel (much better than a crane swivel the Wal-Mart spinnerbaits come with), and are only $2.99 each. They also have a Wahoo buzzbait that's $1.99 each that I've used and has a nice sharp hook and tracks well. https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/wahoo-pro-select-3-8-oz-spinnerbait-201120656#repChildCatSku=021396221 https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/wahoo-promo-buzz-3-8-oz-buzzbait#repChildCatSku=021394671
  23. Look out Ike, I think you have some competition. At least there's no wondering if you got the right Christmas present for them when you get this reaction I guess?
  24. No, it just doesn't flex at all since it's carbon fiber, it snaps. It's not like glass or anything, but mine broke in my rod locker, I think the reel was near the top with the handle pointed up and the lid fell on it, so a pretty good blow. Don't toss it around or anything though.
  25. I have one on my wacky rig rod. It's very nice but be careful with that handle, it's pretty fragile and if you break it they're about $40 to replace, not that I did it and found out the hard way ?
