  1. Maybe they all are now. I stocked up when they first came out and they're so durable that I haven't had to buy any more of them yet. You get some of the cool stuff there that we don't get here. I've been wanting to try some of the line thru sandeels for bass but seems they're only online overseas. They look like a really fast falling senko with a line thru system from what I've seen, could be a really deadly bait for bass.
  2. Cool, I didn't know they did that with any of them other than the monster 16" bait.
  3. I think Livetarget has fooled me enough times that I won't be trying one.
  4. Is that the 16" Line Thru? Looks like it has the wire pre-rigged and double hook.
  5. They look cool, but I've had very limited success with big soft plastic swimbaits like the Hudds, makes me less interested in them. I've had pretty good luck with the Boom Boom swimbaits and Optimums and they're much cheaper so I can put them places I'd be scared to put something more expensive. Those Shellbacks look good too and I know a lot of guys have been doing well with them.
  6. I sold a lot of my stuff that was worth selling, donated a bunch to high school fishing teams that was still in good shape, but not anything worth selling. Pared my gear down a lot to stick with a few of my favorite colors and just a few companies where possible. Just came to the realization that I have so much in the boat, yet I fish the same handful of baits a vast majority of the time. Just made no sense to keep carrying all that extra for the "what if" situations in my head that may never happen.
  7. Love those mixed bag days like that. Seems like they happen often in the winter time when everything tends to school up in similar areas.
  8. As much as I love bass fishing, I couldn't go without having a wide variety of species available to me because I'm still very much multispecies guy. Of the places that I've actually fished that I think I could fish forever and never get bored, I'd have to go with Beaver Lake and Table Rock a close 1 and 2 and I'm not really sure which is which.
  9. Tough to tell with nothing to really compare it to. Looks like a big spawning male with that swollen, dark colored head.
  10. I fish them a lot with a 7' M/F Ethos Micro and 20lb braid. Cast a mile and I can just reel into a strike. I use a 7' 3" H/F Ethos Micro with 50lb braid for the 130.
  11. The Dobyn's Fury 795 and 806 along with the Okuma Guide Select are proven swimbait rods that are reasonably priced. I own both and like them both for different things. The Okuma would be my choice for the baits you listed. The Dobyn's I like better for glide baits or WTD topwaters because it's a little shorter and makes manipulating the baits easier. I can fish with either all day with minimal fatigue (there's going to be some regardless of gear used when you're flinging a big bait all day).
  12. I forget how sunshine bass are different from our wipers/hybrids, but there must be a big difference because wipers are super aggressive and attack about anything when the mood strikes them. They look very similar though.
  13. Yeah, they don't come through wood well. I've made some weedless ones, both with a weedguard and with a worm hook or a twistlock to T rig, but they haven't produced as well for me even though the action is similar.
  14. I really like the Assassin and the Spartacus Plus. The Speed Demon is nice if you want really high speed, it's not the lightest reel, but true to it's name, it is really fast. I was very skeptical at first, but I've abused the reels they gave me to try, and they've stood up to everything and keep going for me. Impressed me enough that I've bought a few with my own money and have been equally impressed by them, spinning and casting reels both.
  15. This is the same I do. As soon as I see the splash and don't see my frog, I swing on them, and I don't miss many.
  16. I use the same line at night as I do during the day. I also fish lakes with lots of docks, bushes, and overhanging trees at night. I get tangled sometimes, but as long as I keep my cast or pitches low it doesn't happen that often. I've night fished for years, never once used a blacklight.
  17. Welcome!
  18. The line guide thing has me confused as well? Spinning reels have a bail, not guide like a baitcaster. I have several from the 25 to the 35 sizes and they are all great reels. I have 20lb braid on a couple of them and there is no issue with it coming off the reel.
  19. The back to back uni is what I started with and it worked well, but the Alberto is a smaller knot that clears guides better and is also easy to tie, so I've switched to that.
  20. I've had the most luck with a 5" thin senko wacky rigged on a drop shot.
  21. I've had boats with bad trailers, so I know how important it is to take care of them and have one that is in good operating order. It's not fun working on it as it will be with the boat, but I don't want to get the boat ready and not be able to go anywhere because the trailer is falling apart.
  22. I'll typically have anywhere from 4-12 on the deck. I junk fish a lot, so I'll have a little bit of everything tied on.
