  1. Welcome!
  2. I think because this is "The" bass that we're talking about, the record, he did the right thing and probably saved himself a world of headache. I can clearly remember KVD catching a bass on a crankbait on TV, in a tournament, in the side right below the dorsal. He said something about the fish swiping at it and credited his hooks and rod before plopping it into the livewell. No big deal in that instance, but when you're talking the world record, and especially since it was on a bed, it really complicates things. It makes me think of Steve Kennedy at Clear Lake.
  3. I'm not sure what the difference is, but the 80 size of this thing looks a lot alike, but it's a fish catching machine for me. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/River2Sea_Bubble_Walker/descpage-R2SBUB.html
  4. I've used the 7' 2" M/M Glass in the new LTB and I was really impressed with how versatile it was. It's touted as being a light cranking rod but it's handled baits over 1/2oz easily.
  5. Yes, the jighook baits aren't going to come through snags very well while the screwlock hook baits will.
  6. Gold Copper Silver white chartreuse red
  7. I use a snap on almost all my jerkbaits with the split rings removed from the front. Only exception is very small jerks.
  8. I've pulled so much fishing line out of the lakes I fish. It always gets wound into a ball and taken to the recycling tubes at the boat ramps so it doesn't end up in a landfill or back in the lake.
  9. I use this when I'm kayak fishing. https://www.scheels.com/p/the-protector™-phone-tether-3.0/68871357342.html?store=&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-daUBhCIARIsALbkjSZVysWHf1Z2uCntlxc_fs6nXhtIu-qmCvNAKaylzXuuFZQesyVBehUaArvNEALw_wcB
  10. Cassidee and Chloe Both Golden Retrievers but very different personalites. Cassidee is laid back and very affectionate. Chloe is psycho that is never really quite sure how to be.

  12. Went to the lake as kind of a last minute thing yesterday with the family. My MIL bought a pontoon last year and really wanted to go to the lake to test it out after putting a bunch of work into it since last fall. So I took my boat along with my family, and we met her and my wife's little sister and her 3 girls at the lake. The wind was howling 25-40 mph, so when we got there before them, the boys and I walked down to the water and did some casting from the bank. It was so deserted because of the winds that we fished off the boat ramp. I wasn't expecting much, but one of my first cast netted a tiny walleye. I told my oldest where he needed to cast, and he figured it out pretty quick. Once we launched the boat, I found one of my own. Lake wanted to hold it too ? After everyone was tired of getting beat up by the waves, we put them on the trailers and the girls were hanging out by the boats talking, so we walked back down to our spots, and the fish were still there. My 2 older nieces both wanted in on the action too. Not really sure how I managed to do this?
  13. Still lots of it in stock everywhere. I haven't heard anything about them going out of business.
  14. I like the 45-50 for big fish and because there's fewer people on the water.
  15. Nice! Some healthy looking blues. Never caught a white catfish/bullhead before, but that certainly looks like one.
  16. Sorry for your loss.
  17. Mine was high a few years ago, to the point I had to take medication. When I lost a bunch of weight I was good enough to get off the medication. Eating a lot more fruits and vegetables and just making smarter choices along with exercising helped mine.
  18. I have one on my shakyhead rod and really like the T knob.
  19. 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4 ounce.
  20. Well mine looked good, but it survived one fish before it was launched onto the bank. Have to try something else to get them to hold better I guess.
  21. Welcome!
  22. Welcome!
  23. I've only fished Neko rigs on spinning gear with braid to a leader, it works great like that. An ultravibe worm is an interesting bait choice. I usually opt for a stick worm or Mag finesse style worm.
