I would buy some carbon drag from Smooth Drags. Google --> smoothdrag * I also buy some reels from ebay to convert them to parts. For me, It tend to be cheaper than going to them since I do the maintenance myself to kill the winter time.

I will be doing some more researching on that and decide shortly when black friday comes or someone is having a huge NRX sale The main reason I want to stay in the 854C range due to the handle length (14 1/4). The 803C is perfect for me (Handle Length: 13 1/4). If I am being picky on this, I should go custom build

I tend to go 8 up/4 down on that knot for 10 to 14 lbs braid line. anything less than 10 lbs I go 10 up/5 down.

For the Jerkbait: I would get the the Curado/Scorpion 70. The small profile will feel better as you will be jerking it. I have the Scorpion with St. Croix Mojo Bass (M/F). The line will just be fine.

Am looking into this. I already have the NRX 803C JWR which is set up for 1/8 to 3/8 craws which does the job perfectly. What would be a better rod for heavier weight between 3/8 to 1/2 for texas rig/jigs .
