Gut Feelings
Do you always follow your gut or instinct or do you ignore it some times. Iv had a hut feeling for some time now and been just putting it off even though I'm sure it's right on now but don't want it to be.

Hoyt Vs. Mathews
I guess this would be the bow hunting equivalent of the Abu vs Shimano debate but which do you shoot or like. Personally I like the Hoyt line up most of my friends and family shoots Hoyt. I'm in the market for a new bow and I want a Hoyt nothing brand new just a season or 2 old. My wife wants me to get a Mathews because there the "best" I like the Mathews but i like the Hoyts more mostly because there cheaper and adjustable where the Mathews bows are not without buying new cams if I'm not mistaken. So whats your guys takes on these two company's or if you think one is better then these two please share.

Lake Alice is extremely clean Glennwood is clean I guess it don't look clean haha. I haven't caught a crappie out of Alice in a few years but the last one i caught was a good size they are pretty tasty also I usually keep the ones I catch ice fishing but I don't catch enough during the open water months to warrant keeping them to eat. Lake Alice can get pretty crowded on weekend with fisherman and pleasure boaters this past weekend there was easily 50 trucks w/ trailers in the small parking lot.

Revo Sx
I have one and I love it its a 2nd Gen. My wife has even used it recently never using a BC before and was tossing a jig around like a pro with out any issues at least not on the reels end she was getting snagged like every cast. Iv said it before in other threads but I have mine set as loose as it will go brakes off spool knob barely on there just enough to take out the side to side movement. I never adjust it I don't adjust any reels from 1/8oz to 3/4oz not the sx, s, or citica. The sx in my opinion is a great reel if them S models didn't look so sexy on a veritas id get more SX's. J.bruno when you want to get rid of yours send me a PM

Lake Alice is separated by a big power dam then runs a mile or 2 up to the upper oak orchard runs maybe 20 miles past my house and hits another power dam and then Glennwood lake. Lake Alice is experincing excellent blue gill off the main bridge during the day with great crappie fishing in the evening according to the fishing hotline for the county(585 589 3220). I can confirm that as i drive by there everyday and the bridge is packed some times depending what day of the week it is.

Pt. Breeze is free and its right off the park way easy to get to from the Charlotte area. Lake Alice is free as well and maybe 5 miles away its a nice small lake with LMB, SMB, Walleye, Pike, Panfish, and giant carp.

Probably My Last Outing For The Year
Had a long day of fishing today my father in law had won a half day boat rental so my nephew and I went out at 8am till 1pm and had almost no luck. Ryan had caught one early on with a deep diving crank skimming tops of submerged grass with a -15 crank. That was the only keeper fish for that whole trip I caught one at the end on a drop shot my first drop shot fish ever a 6" SMB. After that trip we went back ate some lunch shot some ground hogs packed up again and went to our honey hole with the canoe. We started off slow but noticed the water level was up about a foot from 2 days ago when we were out. I caught the first fish actually the first 6 fish. First one came on a spinner after bumping it off a tree that fell in the water it was a easy 2#. Maybe an hour later I got my second fish on the same spinner a solid 5# also from bumping the spinner off a piece of wood. By this point I thought I figured out the pattern that they were holding tight to wood cover and were reaction bites after bouncing some thing off the wood. Well we went 2 hours with out a bite not even nibbles so much for my pattern. Finally Ryan had one on it was HUGE woulda blown both of out PB's out of the water. However he was out gunned so to speak. He only has 2 combos 1 spinning 1 baitcasting. Well this fish came on a jig and took him for a ride after giving us a little glimpse. Soon as it came to the top he seen the canoe and before we knew it Ryan's drag was screaming on his walmart special Pinnacle and 12# Trilene XL on a Berkley shock 6'6" M rod. This fish took him down into some stumps and branches and locked him up. We tried digging the fish out for 10 minutes from every angle not a budge ended up cutting the line. After the heart break Ryan was still at a big fat 0 and I only had 2. maybe 45 Minutes went by and then I had another solid 4# chunk of a bass. That one opened the door for me and I realized they wanted a slow finesse presentation. I tied on a new jig a Terminator Tiny-T jig in black and blue with a Rage baby craw in summer craw and started tossing it to every stump and branch I could find I caught another quick 6 bass smallest one was maybe 3#. At this time Ryan was ready to call it quits so I gave him a shaky head worm sense he was out at that's his go to lure and first cast he got a nice 3#. We caught a bunch off a stretch of bank on the finesse jig and shaky head and then started to head in. We got to the little feeder stream that was in the picture from my other thread and I decided on more cast with the frog I really wanted to get a frog fish before I went back to Kuwait. Made my cast and Ryan asked me if I seen "that" shortly after my frog touched down. I didn't see what he was talking about but he had seen a bulge of water charging my frog in the foot of water covered in duck weed. The fish smacked my frog and missed we both knew this was another big fish. I left my white scum frog right where the miss was I didn't try for another cast gave it a good 30 seconds that felt like 30 minutes, first twitch after the pause and bam fish on I ended up ripping her right in. The pic doesn't do this gal justice it was dark and Ryan was using his flash for a flashlight well I tried to get my frog back she had it all the way down about to go in her stomach both hooks I got it out and was afraid I had killed her. Her mouth was so big I had my whole hand in its mouth and was able to unsnap my dual lock snap and take apart the frog and had room to move and work in there. I put her back in and held on to nurse her back and soon as she touched the water she thrashed and took off like a bat outa hell. We ended finishing the day with my best 5 fish a touch over 20# id say 20-22# Ryan's best 3 all he caught went maybe 9# heres some pics of ones I took pics of most I just release quickly cause Ryan was getting a lot of bites and I had to stay on top which I did lol. Like I said the one pic doesnt do that last girl justice she was a brute.

Got Out With My Wife And Son This Week
Thanks Steve, yeah my boys are my life I can't wait till Jack my youngest can fish I hope he will like it like Noah does. Noah is a outdoors freak a daddys boy he hates being inside always out in the horse barn or chasing the chickens playing on his tractor. Jack my youngest he's a moms boy and hates being outside would rather be inside infront of the tv like his mother lol. I blame it on the deployment I wasn't home to brain wash him with the outdoor channel like was with Noah lol.

What Are Your Hunting Weapon's?
My farthest shot with it was 530yards at a 5gal bucket lid I center punched it 3 times about a 4" group. Ballisicly the .243 is better out to 1000yards then the .308 check out 6mmbr.com they have tons of info on all the common rounds.

Ice Fishing???
Dress warm I recently started ice fishing I didn't get out last season due to we never had a winter to freeze the lakes over really before I left for Kuwait. I love it now that I got out and caught some fish doing it getting the hang of it. My biggest suggestion would be find some one who already knows some spots and tricks and go with them at first. There's nothing worse then sitting on the ice freezing your ass off and not even getting a nibble
