That's quite a catch!

I've been fishing this way for years.

I only get off work on weekends, and 2 weeks vacation a year. I'll be out fishing this time of year no matter what. I've been lucky so far, it's been cold, but no rain or snow.

The only place I won't work a jig on the bottom is around rip-rap. Then I swim it.

Lipless work year round in any conditions.

BPS Crappie Spin, or Booyah Pond Magic. I fish them on a ml/f with 6 lb line.

A plastic worm because I would never remember it's not real.

All of my jig and t-rig rods are 6'6". Easier to store and carry while fishing from the bank.

For me it depends on what cover or structure I am fishing and what retrieve the bass are biting.

I always have a trailer on a jig. I don't think I have ever fished a spinnerbait with a trailer before.

When I go fishing late fall, winter, and early spring I'm just happy to get out. Catching is an added bonus.

This 4-12 lb hit a crankbait about 20 feet out from the bank in about 3 feet of water.

White, white / chartreuse, or black.

I know Eel Grass, Water Willows, Lilypads, American Lotus, and Coontail. If I had my choice I would always fish the coontail.

I grab the line if I can't lip the bass, but you still have to be careful. The last thing I want is a bass hanging on the end of line shaking its head with a mouthful of treble hooks.

I bought a new 6'6" m/f over the holidays. I've been using it to fish with 1/16 ounce t-rigs, weightless 6" worms, and split shot rigs. I'm not having any issues with it at all.

I fish 1/8 ounce Bitsy Bugs on a mh rod with 15# mono. I set my drag tight enough to pull it out of the weeds.

The Mo. Conservation Dept. very quietly started addressing this issue at the Conservation site near me about 10 or 11 years ago. First they started blocking off certain roads for safety reasons. After that they just stopped cutting the brush away from the bank on some lakes to limit lake access. Now the only way to fish some locations is by boat.

I learned to walk the dog on a 7'0" rod. After a while I started using a 6'6". Much easier for me to work a spook with the shorter rod.

I've got some of the old 1/2 ounce Cordell Big-O baits that I get wet every once in a while. Other than that I have some Storm sub-warts, and some of the Rapala floating minnows that were made in Ireland.

I take the bait off at the end of the trip and put it back in the bag.
