  1. I've been fishing 3 times this year, and have been skunked twice. Hopefully I'll be able to keep Mr. Skunk away for a while.
  2. Nothing beats when I feel that thud on the retrieve and then the line starts heading off in another direction.
  3. Those are nice bass!! Congratulations!!
  4. 15 lb Big Game on the baitcasters. 8 or 10 lb Stren or Trilene on the spinning reels.
  5. The only time I ever had a palomar knot break was when I tied the knot wrong, or when there was a problem with the line.
  6. Welcome to the forums!
  7. Congratulations on that really nice bass!!
  8. First bass of the year. Got him on a spinnerbait in a patch of dead lily pads.
  9. Tubes, creature baits, plastic worms. The same baits I use in summer.
  10. I have good luck with red and orange all year long, as long as, the water is muddy. What I've noticed around here is that the bass will want either red, orange, or orange reddish color. I'll have to find the correct color and depth to trigger bites.
  11. I've been using snaps for crankbaits, and small topwater baits for years. I've never had any issues as long as the snaps were not damaged, or bent.
  12. Sounds like a good afternoon!
  13. I never use them. When I get back from a fishing trip the rods go in the basement. Most of the time they will need to be cleaned to get dried vegetation, mud, or other gunk off of them.
  14. I don't have any Sammys, but I have a bunch of spooks in different sizes. I will change up the sizes until I find the one that the bass are going after.
  15. Right now I'm only fishing with Zoom finesse worms, and Creme Scoundrels. As the temps warm up more I will be using Mann's jellyworms, Zoom Mag II, and Zoom trick worms.
  16. The last time I was in Dick's store was maybe 2 years ago. Most of the store was ball sports, exercise equipment, and clothing.
  17. I use to see a lot of guys fishing them locally. Now I never see one being fished.
  18. The first thing I would do is read up to learn where and when to use each technique. Then I'd look at the water I'll will be fishing to determine which technique will work best.
  19. When I fish with shiners I usually end up catching catfish.
  20. Besides a few bags of trailers, I'm good.
  21. I fish with a 1/2 chatterbait, and usually just let it fall to the bottom. I let is sit for a few seconds then slow roll it for a few feet and then let it drop back to the bottom again. I try to keep the bait as close to the bottom as possible.
