Duo lock
No, I use a snap on the larger baits. On the smaller baits I tie direct.

Riprap Tips
Fishing from the bank I will use shallow running crankbaits, small spinnerbaits, split shot, weightless, and t-rigged plastics. I'll fish with light jigs if I know the rip rap and what's around it.

Do you categorize your PB’s?
I break it up by species, and by the bait I caught each PB on. Looking back over the spreadsheet it's really an eye opener when you can look back and see what baits have produced the big ones.

LIving in the boonies
I grew up in the city. My grandma lived down in Arkansas in a very rural area. When we would go down to visit I wouldn't be able to sleep for a couple of nights. It took me a few days to get use to the quiet.

Lure/Technique to start the day? Then what...
It depends on the conditions on the day I go fishing. This time of year I'm going to start off with moving baits. If those don't work I will switch over to plastics and jigs.

Prop baits
Heddon Torpedo or Cordell Boy Howdy.

One lure only.
Strike King 3/8 Bitsy Flip in black/blue. Trailer will probably be a Super Chunk jr. in black, or green pumpkin.

Surprise TV shows...
The wife has gotten me hooked on Columbo. It's usually on a couple times during the weekend.

Muddy water preference:chatterbait or spinnerbait ?
I'll use both.

Another 10 weeks to go
The ice on the ponds near work was starting to melt yesterday. I plan on heading out this weekend to see if I can find open water.

location choices
It depends on how many other anglers are on the water and if my spots are open or not.

Switching to mono
Mono.

Switching to mono
Punching weed mats is the only time I use braid. The other reels all have mono on them.

Lipless crankbaits for early spring pond bass
I fish with lipless cranks all the time in 3 and 4 acre ponds as soon as the ice is gone. I cast around submerged vegetation or along the dam.

Favorite Lure and Lure Color for spring/when the bass are on beds
During the spawn I'll be casting a crankbait in either firetiger or crawfish color.
-
Green pumpkin vs watermelon
I use both colors in the same water. I don't think there is much of a difference between the two colors.

Photos never lie or check your scale
That's a nice bass.

Jerkbaits for smaller lakes and ponds
I would start off with a floating minnow. That will tell you if the fish in your lake want a jerkbait style bait without getting hung up on the bottom.

I'm going to start throwing this....
I've decided that this year I'm going to throw more hard jerkbaits and not just flukes.

*Public Service Announcement*
Most of the time I don't use it. When a plastic gets torn up enough I'll use it for a trailer or put it on a jig head. I will use it when I'm on my last plastic, and the bass decide that is the bait they want to hit.

Soft plastics that live up to the hype..
Mann's Jellyworm, and Zoom baits.

TikTok
My daughter has it. She has shown me some stuff on there. After seeing it I'm glad I don't have it.

It's part of fishing.
