  1. Way back in the day my Dad belonged to one that was across the river in Illinois. Membership fees were around $25 a year. The catch was that to become a new member you had to have an active member vouch for you. When the membership was opened to the general public the yearly fee skyrocketed. My Dad quit after that.
  2. Carry On Wayward Son - Kansas Magic Carpet Ride - Steppenwolf Do Ya - ELO
  3. We can't burn yard waste so the city contracts with a company to have it picked up. The most yard waste bags we can put out is 10. It seems like if you have one or two bags there is no problem, but when you get up near the limit they seem to miss you.
  4. That must have been one heck of fight.
  5. Some nice looking slabs.
  6. Depending on what the weather is like you may want to consider some of the other lakes already mentioned above. If it's warm out you'll be dodging cruisers and getting hit with boat wakes.
  7. The rod I choose depends on the weight of the bait I am fishing with. Chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, lipless crankbaits, and large crankbaits all get thrown on the same rig.
  8. I have a Storm Sub-wart that still gets wet about once or twice a year. I used to fish with it all the time before they went out of production. That bait has caught everything from bluegill to muskie.
  9. Welcome to the forums.
  10. I like a dark jig with a big trailer on it. Something that makes the bait easier to see, and gives off some action.
  11. Around here the bass seem to like moving baits until the weather warms up. My top three are crankbaits, lipless crankbaits, and spinnerbaits.
  12. I set my drag to around 1/3 or 1/4 to start with. After I'm out on the water I'll adjust it depending on the conditions.
  13. I've noticed on my chatterbaits that the hooks won't stay sharp. I've gotten so everytime I use one, I'll hit the hook with the file to sharpen it back up.
  14. I switched over to Stik-Os some years ago from Senkos. I've never noticed a difference in the bite between the two.
  15. Shimano SLX currently on a mh/f rod, but I'm in the market for a m/f rod. I have 10 lb mono on that rig.
  16. If the bait I have t-rigged up is too light for my baitcaster, then I use my spinning gear. I've never thought about if it was considered finesse or not.
  17. Hoping for the best
  18. I'm not going to go into what I think about the lawsuit. I will say that the ultimate responsibility for both passengers and boat lies with the person in charge of operating the boat. For whatever reason, if the boat operator decides to go on the water with an unsafe boat, or in unsafe conditions, then that operator is putting everyone at risk.
  19. Black crappie. They're starting to get active here.
