  1. Use a c-rig and probe the bottom. Keep a fairly tight line and watch for changes in the angle of the line where it enters the water.
  2. Around here windy days and finesse baits don't mix. I will fish with baits that hopefully the bass have not seen in a while.
  3. Grackle. They invade our bird feeder about once a day.
  4. I got three yesterday while fighting the wind. One on spinnerbait and two on jigs. All of the bass were in water willows, and all of the water willows were growing right out in the open in the wind. This was the largest at 4-12, and was along a drop off.
  5. Weed mats floating on the surface. Water willows growing along the bank, or on top of shallow humps. Lilypads if they are not too thick.
  6. I was going to the same barbershop for 39 years. Last year they shut down for COVID-19. After they reopened, you had to schedule an appointment. With my work schedule I could never get in so I started going to a different place that is closer to home.
  7. A H/F could also double for a punch rig.
  8. Big Game is easier to break after it has been used a while. That line is indestructible brand new off of the spool.
  9. I still fish with a Storm sub wart too. It comes out when the bite gets tough.
  10. Stuff in the water is hard enough to see in murky water. Nighttime creates a whole new set of problems.
  11. Last Monday was the only time I’ve been fishing that has been sunny and warm. Every other time has been cold, rainy, or both.
  12. Shallow running crankbaits Spinnerbaits Jig and craw I've caught a couple on t-rigs, but for the most part the bass are still chasing moving baits.
  13. I grew up fishing with Creme scoundrel plastic worms in grape color. That's the only color I would ever use.
  14. I would get a second opinion. I was told I was starting to get cataracts in one of my eyes. I switched doctors when I was unhappy with my eyeglass prescription. I asked the new doctor about the cataracts, and said I was clear.
  15. Over the years I have noticed that a new crankbait right out the package will not always catch fish. After that same bait has been fished with for a while it will start catching.
  16. It has to a carolina rig or a wacky rig. I can catch bass with them, but for me they are a real pain to fish with. It seems like I'm always hanging them up on something.
  17. I used to fish with a Sedona on a 6'6" m/f rod. I never put more than 10 lb mono on it.
  18. I've been using them for a few years now, and have never had any issues.
  19. Nice looking bass, congratulations!
  20. Welcome to the forums.
  21. Around here it will vary from year to year when the bass start hitting topwater baits.
  22. I've been casting crankbaits with 8 lb mono line, and have not had any issues so far.
  23. Black jig and craw.
  24. Bad battery, and possibly bad charger. Not sure if one caused the other or not.
