  1. I've been checking out a lot of bait and tackle websites lately. That's never a good sign for me.
  2. A jitterbug is one of my summertime confidence baits. I've had good luck fishing them along rip rap at night.
  3. I don't have a problem with taking the jonboat into thick muck. I just raise the motor and break out the oars. A lot of other anglers stop at the weed line.
  4. I've completely given up on Beetle Spins. I don't think I've ever had a hit on one. Hollow bodied frog, but not because I can't catch bass with it. When I fish a frog it will attract every bullfrog in a 5 mile radius.
  5. I don't go less than 6 lb anymore. I used to fish with 4 lb but I had a lot of break offs in the thick vegetation.
  6. Zoom Super Chunk or Chunk Jr. most of the time.
  7. That is quite the bass!
  8. Congratulations!!
  9. That is a good bass!
  10. If I'm catching one an hour on average for 6 or 7 hours, that is a good day for me.
  11. MH/F casting for jigs. M/F casting for moving baits. M/F spinning for weightless or finesse. MH/F casting for weighted plastics.
  12. Probably a SLX 150 or a Curado K. I was looking at them around Thanksgiving, and decided to go with Daiwa. Been thinking about them ever since.
  13. Thanks Glenn, good video.
  14. In clear water I'll stick to natural colors like greens and browns, but I do make sure there is a little contrast between the trailer and jig. In murky water I'll fish with a black jig with a dark colored trailer, but I don't worry that much about contrast.
  15. Having mechanical problems out in the middle of the lake, and having to row back to the ramp while the wind is blowing in the other direction.
  16. Hooks and weights in old pill bottles. The pill bottles go into a 3600 size box. The 3600 box gets moved between the tackle bag I use on the boat, and the tackle bag I use walking the bank. I got the idea from watching a video from @A-Jay.
  17. Last year I would throw out a weightless plastic worm, and it wouldn't get bit. I put a small split shot up the line about a foot, and started catching bass. Same bait, only difference was that split shot.
  18. Bubblegum Fluke. I bought a pack because my daughter was with me and thought they were pretty. They work really well in the spring when the water is murky.
  19. One of my best crankbaits is a baby 1 minus in brown craw. I fish with it year round.
  20. This time of year I fish with a 1/8 oz spinnerbait in smaller lakes and ponds that are around 10 to 15 feet deep. I let it sink all the way to the bottom then I start my retrieve. I just speed up the retrieve until I feel resistance from the spinnerbait, and then slow it down a little. I'm fishing with 6 lb mono on a ml/f rod.
  21. My plan is to retire to the Springfield, Joplin Mo. area. It's not a 15 minute drive to a lake, but it's closer than I am now, and it's more centrally located to all the lakes in the Ozark region.
  22. Walking the bank I carry 3 rods. Usually some kind of combination of spinning and bc. When I fish out of a boat I'll have 4 or 5 bc and spinning rods.
