on line school
Nope. One daughter working and one daughter just started her sophomore year in college. Probably going to have a shortened semester with online finals. That is what they did in the spring.

Weightless t-rig setup
I have a Revo S on a St. Croix MH/F premier rod. I like this rig for weightless 6” senkos and weightless flukes. All other weightless plastic baits go on the spinning reel.

Jerkbaits: Floating, Suspending, Sinking?
I use suspending and floating jerkbaits. I have a couple of sinking baits, but I can’t remember the last time I used them.

Preparing for the day...strategies
If I have fished the water before then I usually have an idea of how to rig up. If this is a place I have never fished before then I try to find information on the web, and I rig up based on what the weather is like. Cloudy, sunny, windy, warm, or cool all have slightly different presentations.

New PB's
Nice! Congratulations!

You can only use one fishing line type all your life...
I've used mono, fluoro, and braid. I always come back to the mono.

Chatterbait rod
I use the same rod / reel for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits.

Fishing line & stain/dirty water when to replace
If that's like the gunk that gets on my line, it should come off when you make a few casts in clear water. Shouldn't hurt anything.

Tips for Fishing in Current
Make sure you have an anchor heavy enough to hold the boat and not drag in the current. Also in the river I would make sure I have my life jacket.

Anyone using Johnson Silver Minnow?
I have some of these in my dad's old box. Looks like I'm going to be fishing with them.

Inline spinner saves the day.
A 1/16 rooster tail has kept the skunk off of me many a fishing trip.

What do you always have tied on...
Jig and a t-rig of some kind.

Earthquake
We had one here about 12 years ago. We had a couple aftershocks during the day when I was at work that made the file cabinets shake.

How big are the bass you catch before you retie
I can catch dinks all day without a retie as long as I’m in open water. When I’m fishing around rocks or timber I check the line after every cast. If I feel something funny in the line then I will retie.

Swim jig enthusiasts
I swim the same jigs that I use on the bottom. The big difference is in the trailers. Sometimes I’ll use a paddle tail, sometimes a craw, and sometimes I just use a plastic worm.

Bitsy bug question...
I fish with the 1/8 ounce bitsy bug and the 3/8 bitsy flip on a regular basis. This time of year I use them in the vegetation, especially the 1/8 ounce.

Has anyone else got wet to save a lure?
Not after a lure, but I went in after the top half of a two piece rod before.
-
Pond has algae bloom! How would you fish it?
I like shad, firetiger, or a craw pattern.
-
Lure color experience
I've had this happen to me multiple times. You put on the same bait, but in a different color, and the bites stop. Sometimes I think that the color of the bait matches, or is close to, some type of forage in the lake.

Pond has algae bloom! How would you fish it?
Shallow running crankbait. Work it just fast enough to get it down where it won't cause a wake during the retrieve.

Horror movie fans...
Eight Legged Freaks is more of a horror comedy but it was entertaining. Dog Soldiers was probably the best werewolf movie I’ve seen.

How to transition from a shallow to deep fishing mindset?
I would use a texas rig with a 1/2 ounce weight on it. Cast it out as far as you can and then when it hits the water pull off some line to make the bait fall straight down. Maybe 2 or 3 arms lengths. Watch the line as you do this to make sure you see bites. After the bait gets on the bottom either drag it back to you or reel it back with short hops.

It's my 50th Birthday Today
Happy birthday and congrats!

Wait For It
Just like work. Hurry up and wait.
