Congrats to her!

Cloudy and the temp is not going to change much. If I were off from work I would be fishing for sure.

I went Saturday. About 8 AM the wind opened up with very strong gusts. The temps started going up from the high 40's in the morning to the low 70's by noon. Not a good combo around here. I ended up picking up 4 floaters that had blown into the shore, and got to check out the fall colors in the trees that were changing.

My dad said one time that bass fishing is work. That's how I think, so I fish by myself most of the time. It really doesn't bother me since a lot of my friends either want to cast out a bobber and take a nap, or consider a boat to be a floating bar.

I have to say the rod.

A beetle spin is the one bait I have absolutely no luck with, and it is the one bait I have no confidence in.

The past few years it has been like the bites have been turned off at the start of October. This year it seems to be a little better, but I’m not expecting too much.

I tie palomar knots with mono all the time. Most of the time the knot will break for 2 reasons. Either the knot is tied wrong or the mono is getting bad. Higher test mono lasts longer and is easier to tie than lighter mono. Make sure that the line is wet before you tighten down the knot.

I fish with crankbaits year round, but I fish with them a little more in the spring and fall.

All through Sept. if the temp dipped the bite turned off. When the temp would come back up the bite would pick up.

The only app I ever check is my weather app. I check the wind and the temperature. If those are good, then I go.

I’m looking at retiring a couple of my older baitcasters at the end of this fishing season. As far as purchasing them goes, I’ll have to wait and see how Christmas goes.

I use shallow running crankbaits in clear water all of the time if the bass are hitting them.

Just do what the doc says and get better quick.

Zara spook for me. The bass will be ignoring all other topwater baits, but they’ve been going after a spook.

When I test drove a Toyota Rav4 a couple of years ago I asked the salesman how the suv knows it is going out of the lane. He told me that it uses cameras and knows what the stripes in the road mean. So unless I'm driving on the highway all the time, or on a Blvd. that is useless to me. On the flip side of that I love the back up camera. I got use to that real fast.
