  1. I have a BPS 7'0" MH Tourney Special that I inherited.
  2. This for 1/2 and 1/4 ounce size baits.
  3. I'm guilty too. I always start off with a creature, or a tube. Sometimes I totally forget I have plastic worms with me.
  4. The baby 1 minus is probably my most productive crankbait. I have 4 or 5 Subwarts that I use as a last resort, and several of the smaller BPS eggs. I hardly ever use the eggs anymore, but it sounds like I should use them more.
  5. I have been checked, but I always have my license folded up in my wallet.
  6. I can't stand anything on my arms in the summer. I use sunscreen.
  7. Congratulations! College is an experience that you will never forget.
  8. I can't stand it, but the best thing I have found to help with clear water is wind, and thick vegetation.
  9. I have a hard box I bought back in 2006 or so. It is about the size of a briefcase, and I can carry everything in it that I will need for fishing from the bank.
  10. Nice bass! I have gone in after a rod, but never a fish.
  11. I have some old sweet beavers that I pull the legs off of, and just leave the tail attached.
  12. I like the 1/2 ounce size on windy days.
  13. I broke out my summer wear. Somehow all of my shorts shrunk over the winter.
  14. Either a Zoom speed craw, or an ultravibe speed craw. They make good trailers also.
  15. I have my best luck with chatterbaits in the spring and in the fall. The trailer I have on is either a fat albert, or a craw. I like to slow roll the bait along the bottom.
  16. Jig and craw, pop-r, shallow running crankbait, beaver type bait, and super fluke.
  17. Five times out for a grand total of 28. At first I was catching crappie, but now it's all bass.
  18. I learned how to fish with crankbaits and spinnerbaits, after that I started using t-rigs, and c-rigs. Next came jigs, drop shot, etc. After I used all these baits and techniques for a while, I discovered that I like using some more than others. I know all of the techniques will work given the correct conditions, but for me it is just that I prefer to use some more than others.

Congrats! That is a nice looking bass!
  20. Good try, but you need to get the line tangled around your reel like I did.
  21. Nice ones!
  22. Yesterday morning I decided to try some ponds that aren't too far from my house. Got out on pond #1 about 6:30 AM, temp was 45 degrees, no wind, and overcast. Almost immediately I got a small one on a shallow running crankbait. I decided to try jigs and plastics to see if the larger ones were on the bottom, but got no bites at all. Went back to using the shallow running crankbait after that. The overcast cleared up about 9:00 AM, and so did the bite on crankbaits. Ended up with 6 small bass, with the largest being about 1 pound. Pond #2 had a fish kill about 3 years ago and I don't think it has quite come back yet. The sky was partly cloudy, and the wind picked up a little from the NE. The temp shot up to 55 degrees. I only managed to catch one small bass on a 2" swimbait after about an hour of fishing. By the time I got to pond #3 the wind was blowing about 10 mph. Since the crankbait bite died off I started out with the 2" swimbait on a 1/8 once jighead. I started fishing the side of the pond that was getting hit with the wind. I'm not sure if they were spawning there, or just stacked up because of the wind, but by the time I went home for lunch I had 5 more bass with the largest one being about 3/4 pound.
  23. Good job and report!
  24. I have always thought that a bass on the first cast was a good thing.
