  1. WTG! It sounds like you had a great time.
  2. Not going on Christmas Eve or Christmas day. Too much stuff with the family going on. Other than that I will be on the water. The temps are just too warm to stay home.
  3. Welcome to the forums!
  4. Nice bass, but it looks like its been through the ringer.
  5. I would use some shallow running crankbaits. Firetiger, crawfish, and shad are the colors I would start off with.
  6. I have an Abu Garcia 5500 that is probably 20 years old. I have it on a H 6'6" rod, and I use it for fishing t-rigs in heavy cover.
  7. What colors are the crawfish in your area? With a brown jig, I would use greens, browns, and oranges first. If those colors don't work I would start trying blues, or blacks.
  8. That is a good cold weather fishing trip!
  9. They can keep it.
  10. I usually carry two or three rods while on the bank. I carry them in one hand, but I cross them so that the tips are away from each other as I walk.
  11. Cordell Super Spots, and Rat-L-Traps is about all I ever use anymore.
  12. We were catfishing one time with the anchor out of the front of the boat. The fish stringer with our catch was hanging over the side toward the back of the boat. We were fishing out of a rowboat. Somehow the stringer came loose and went in before we could grab it. About an hour later we were going to try a different spot, and when we pulled up the anchor the stringer, with the fish still on, was tangled around the anchor line.
  13. I have been treating the weather we have been having like an extended fall season. I have been doing pretty good in the shallows in the afternoon.
  14. Wow. I didn't realize there were so many BR members out here in the St. Charles co. area. I am right off of hwy. 370 at Elm.
  15. There just isn't any way I could go for two weeks with all that egg nog in the house. I would probably drink one jar a day.
  16. I am going to try deep water vertical jigging. I have caught a couple fishing vertically by accident, but next year I am really going to give it a shot.
  17. I usually use a 3/8 jig. If it gets hung up in the weeds, a quick jerk usually pops it right loose.
  18. You just have to try them and see what happens.
