  1. Mann's 1 minus. I have had very good luck using them this year.
  2. I'd like a reel that automatically allows for the wind.
  3. Crankbaits have produced pretty good for me this year. Maybe it has something to do with the heat, or the fishing pressure that your body of water receives.

I like fishing timber, and grass, if I can get the boat through it.
  5. 1) What is the best way to fish a chatterbait? ( drag on the bottom? burn it on top?) You can slow roll it, burn it fast, or work it like a jig on the bottom. Let the bass tell you what they want 2) What are the best (or your favorite) trailers to use... or do you have success without one at all? I like to use a superhog, ultravibe speed craw, or a super chunk. The same trailers I use for jigs. 3) Do you fish it any different based on what trailer you have? No.
  6. Spools of line go in a drawer in the basement. Rods and reels get cleaned up and go in the rod holder in the basement. I don't leave them in the car. It gets too hot in there.
  7. Well, you can swim any jig. A specialized jig is nice, but not needed. I like to bring the bait across the tops of submerged grass and change up the retrieve as I reel it in.
  8. Great pic! Happy B-Day and have a good time!
  9. Depends on the heat. While it is so hot I usually drink more water.
  10. When I'm calm and daydreaming I tend to get more bites then when I am worried about getting skunked. I'm probably working the bait differently.
  11. You had an great trip!
  12. I stopped fishing for a few weeks a couple of years ago. It was cold in the mornings and hot in the afternoon, and the bass fishing was terrible. I started fishing again when the weather changed. That was the last time I took a break from fishing.
  13. Watch the line. When the bass starts to come to the surface wind like crazy to keep the line tight and then reset the hook before that bass jumps. It also helps to keep the rod tip in the water.
  14. Wow! He dropped it twice!
  15. I don't drink very much soda since I got older, but if I do have one, its a Mt. Dew.
  16. I never go below 6 lb. line. You never know when you might catch something bigger than a crappie. BTW, nice mess of fish!
  17. Make sure that when you cast that there is nothing around that you will hit with your rod. I have gotten many backlashes by hitting something with the rod while casting.
  18. Wow, Look at that pig! Congrats!
  19. I voted football jig, but I also like to use a heavy weighted t - rig.
  20. The lake I fish sees some very heavy fishing pressure. 1 fish = Thank Goodness I didn't get skunked 2 to 4 fish = Pretty good day 5 to 9 fish = Very good day 10+ fish = Yahoo! 0 to 1 lb. = Dink 1 to 2 lbs. = Average size caught usually. 2 to 3 lbs. = Above average 3 to 4 lbs. = Good size bass 4 to 5 lbs. = Very good bass 5+ lbs. = HAWG! 6, 7, and 8 pounders have been caught out of this water, but those have been in the fall and winter when the weekenders stay home.
  21. After taking a day off so I can go fishing, and going back into work the next day, I see that little pop up window on my email telling me that my email is at full capacity and will not hold anymore. It's almost not worth taking a day off.
  22. I see the same thing on a local lake. You can see the clouds coming and hear the thunder, and people are still putting boats in, and going out on the water. Five minutes later they are all trying to get back to the boat ramp while its raining buckets.
  23. A cold front came through yesterday, We are finally out of triple digit heat indexes for a while.
  24. Congratulations!
