Congrats!!

Last time I had a virus was close to 10 years ago, but it wasn't the flu. I was the only one to get it and after the fever broke it hurt my insides to eat anything but fruit for 2 days.

We got our smartphones for Christmas last year. I love that thing. IMO, its better than a laptop, I use it for everything.

I couldn't watch more than a couple of seconds of it. Made my stomach do flip flops.

I use to cut the skirt back to the hook bend. I don't do that any more. Now I just trim off the strands that are sticking out to even up the skirt. I think it makes the bait look a little more fuller.

Rat-L-Traps and spinnerbaits in deep water. Mann's 1- minus in shallow water or when I am fishing from the bank. If I am familiar with a fishing spot and know the water pretty well, I will start off with a plastic, or a jig and start hitting some of my favorite spots right off.

When I take my kids fishing, I am not going to land a new state record. I'm going out so that my kids can land a new state record.

I hope you practiced C&R and released it back into the sewer. I don't think I would want to keep that one myself.

For me, every fish is a fun fish. The big ones are just more fun than the little ones.

I have the red BPS extreme 370 bag that I keep all of my stuff in when I go out on a boat. For bank fishing I use a smaller tackle box that is probably 15 years old.

I like the SK super chunks, and the small salty chunks. But I will use any plastic in the tackle bag as a trailer.

That's a good way to start off the year!

Several of the guys at work have gone to the Brickyard 400 before. They said that was quite an experience.

Good luck and don't rush your recovery.

Get out on the water more, and fish more for smallies.

I hope that I don't get too choked up shoveling the snow out of my driveway.

Luck is being able to find a new PB in the lake, skill is getting the PB in the boat.

Last year I only went out 27 times between March and the end of Sept. Usually spent between 6 and 10 hours on the water depending on how the bass were biting, and if I was by myself or not. I can't wait for retirement!

That's so sad. Many people don't realize just how fast the water can change on you.
