  1. I usually start off with a 1/8 ounce jig with different trailers. If I don't get any hits I start fishing larger jigs.
  2. There is a pond I fish that you have to hike to get to. The pond sits in an open area between trees, and is elevated. It always seems like it is windy up there, and about 15 degrees cooler than anywhere else.
  3. Good catching in the cold!
  4. Started fishing when I was about 7, or 8. Took a break from it for about 10 years or so to focus on family, and work. About 10 years ago I got back into it, and started bass fishing.
  5. I look at the barometer, but it doesn't decide if I go fishing or not.
  6. That is one nice looking boat.
  7. I like to go a little on the heavy side with anchors. It's no fun being blown around when the anchor won't hold you in place.
  8. I like to fish jigs and tubes around offshore structure, and offshore cover. I also like to go around and just look at the lake with the fishfinder to see what is there.
  9. What am I looking forward to? Easy warm weather.
  10. I use to watch a lot of fishing shows. Now I read the magazines.
  11. Had that happen many times. Usually it happens with the last bait in the bag.
  12. Very nice, good job!
  13. Same thing happened to a lake here. 20+ years ago the thing was full of grass, and people caught some really nice bass. Since the carp have been added there is not one weedbed in that lake, and you really have to work to catch a nice bass. Also, the lake is shallow so the carp stir up the mud with their jumping. The only good thing is that the lake is full of wood. Best thing I have found is to use a fish finder and locate every piece of cover, and fish it from every angle.
  14. I never got into tats, but a lot of my friends have.
  15. Good job! Thanks for the pics.
  16. I like to work them two ways. I like to fish them like a buzz bait over weeds that are just under the surface. Bring them in fast so that the legs kick up some water. The second way I like to fish them is on the bottom like a plastic worm.
  17. Tora, Tora, Tora Patton Saving Pvt. Ryan Kelly's Heroes Glory There's more, but this is all I can think of off the top of my head.
  18. I have them cleaned once a year. Usually when there is ice on the water. I open them up a couple times a year to lube them.
  19. I use a 6'-6" MH for all of my crankbaits.
  20. No. If I buy a jig that has rattles I remove them.
  21. I carry two rods, and a scaled down version of my tackle box with just the essentials. I leave the food and drink in the car.
  22. Great pic. Maybe he was upset that he didn't catch it.
