  1. Good catching! Take as many pics as you can while you can.
  2. If I've been skunked, then I'll go looking for numbers. When I get tired of numbers I will fish for size.
  3. Hold onto them, especially if they are the ones made in Sweden. The dumbest thing I ever did was sell my dad's Ambassadeur reels from the late 70's early 80's.
  4. White Pearl Watermelonseed Baby Bass Bubblegum in early spring
  5. Are you setting the hook at soon as you feel the bite? You might want to let the bass have the bait a little longer.
  6. Only crappie caught on today's trip, but at 15" and 1-3/4 lb it's my new PB crappie
  7. I've been there and feel your pain.
  8. I can think of two bass, but I don't know if they changed my life or not. First one happened when I was around 9 or 10. Dad was getting the boat ready and I was casting a Rebel jointed minnow. I was bringing the bait back in and the rod loaded with some weight. I pulled back to set the hook, and the bass jumped. I couldn't tell how big it was, but it threw my broken minnow. Until then, I didn't know they could do that. Second one happened when I was around 15, and we were catfishing in a 3 or so acre pond. We were fishing with dough bait on the bottom. The pond was clear and shallow so you could see when the fish took the bait. I had a cat messing with the bait, I see a flash under the water, and my line starts moving off. I landed a bass that weighed about a pound.
  9. I don't really pay attention to shade or temps. The lakes I fish are starting to weed up this time of year so the shade is easy to find, and if I'm not cold then I'm good. I worry about the wind. I want to have wind on the water but I also want to be able to control the boat and not get knocked around by the waves.
  10. I have more Pad Crashers, but most of the time I'm fishing with a Spro frog.
  11. Maybe a 2? Most of the time if I'm fishing out of a 14' jon boat, I won't have any electronics with me if I know the lake. If I don't know the water then I'll be using my 2D sonar.
  12. In stained or muddy water I like orange craw, fire tiger, or black. If the sun is out then chrome to throw some flash in the water.
  13. Dang. At the rate you have been catching those bass its no wonder your wrist hurts.
  14. I want to see it. I want to see that it was a bass, and since I fish a lot of dink infested water, I want visual confirmation that larger size bass are present.
  15. Depending on how thick the vegetation is, I like to fish with a 1/8 jig. If they snag then a quick jerk on tight line is usually enough to rip them free. I also like a buzzbait if there are some open holes in the vegetation. I cast into the holes so the bait doesn't get snagged when it hits the water. Retrieving at a somewhat fast rate will keep the blade from getting too tangled up.
  16. It depends on where I am fishing and the limit allowed. I don't keep anything from local waters, but if we go on a trip, then I may keep a few.
  17. Jigs. I'm always disappointed when the bass are not biting them.
  18. Congratulations. 154 bass over three days is quite a bit of fishing.
  19. 6'6" MH, fast, spooled with 15# Big Game for pitching and flipping jigs and Texas rigs 7'0" MH, fast, spooled with 15# Big Game for heavy moving baits. 7'0" M, fast, spooled with 10# Big Game for smaller sized moving baits.
  20. I've gotten to the point I just unscrew the top and pour the gas into the mower through a funnel.
  21. I've never had an issue buying Big Game from Walmart, but if I have gift cards I will get it from Bass Pro.
  22. I don't see many people fishing with Jitterbugs any more. A lot of people tell me it's and old lure. I consider it their loss.
  23. Sometimes I need to watch a walking bait in order to get my retrieve down. If I'm working a popper I go by feel or by listening for a splash if the bait is close enough.
  24. I have the type with the chains and a telescoping retriever. I use the telescoping retriever the most since most of the water I fish is no more than 20' deep.
