  1. Not on any of the plastic baits I used to help build...
  2. Stubborness doesn't catch you any more fish... use a better tool (spinning reel)
  3. my 3 part rust response... 1. keep my tetanus vaccination up to date 2. don't put away any bait until completely dry 3. don't let a little rust deter me from fishing the bait oe
  4. Senkos are produced in Page, AZ aren't they...?
  5. Left hand crank Chronarch E5... only Shimano reel I've ever owned. Traded it for a 2nd Gen Abu Premier. The Premiers are still my reels of choice. ( I always wanted a burgundy Scorpion... they just looked sexy) oe

... are you still believing red hooks on your jerkbaits increase bites? oe
  7. Unabashed smallmouth chaser... Occasionally I remove the skirt on jigs and spinnerbaits completely. Frequently I thin skirts to only 6 or 8 strands.
  8. Thanks! Don't have a smart phone, but do have foot control. Thanks again. oe
  9. I read recently that a terrova needs to be recalibrated when the remote's batteries are changed. Any truth to this? I take the batteries out of the remote and store them to prevent corrosion during the winter. oe
  10. Fun post to get me to reminisce. I don't carry anything that will photograph when I fish, but I do remember many of my better sized catches and pretty much every one of them came on hair/hare jigs I tied. 4 - 20"+ smallmouth, 2 - 22" largemouth, 31" walleye, several (wonderful fighting) drum, 1 catfish I couldn't lift out of the water, and at least 4 musky that measured 42"+. I remember the thrill each of them gave me. I do collect and fish other lures as well, but that little jig category has out produced every other lure for size... by far; go figure. Thank you Phil Schafer for teaching me how to tie your marabou, bucktail and rabbit zonker minnow pattern. I do miss our conversations... oe
  11. Good post for the Fishing Reports board just below...
  12. I don't follow tournaments... How many tournaments has this Fothergill fished professionally? (I've never heard of him) What lake was this tournament on?
  13. In my ponds it would tell me that the spawn hasn't started yet , but the males are beginning to build nests as the females are waiting a bit deeper. Also larger bass bed in depths just out of sight. oe
  14. Just take one with you and the decision becomes easier. oe
  15. A-Jay's point of covering different depths is valid, but I'd suggest different colors to do so. Elegy Bone, Pro Perch and double on the Mat Shad...
  16. Traditional walleye fishing techniques are aided with a more parabolic rod, thus, us "traditional" (older) anglers think of those rod specs as being walleye specific. If it fits your needs it's the right rod for your technique.
  17. I believe there is a difference between a natural lake and an impounded river and they will fish differently. Things can change more quickly in a small lake vs. a large lake... temp, turbidity, weed cover, fishing pressure, ect.
  18. I am the antithesis of A-Jay...
  19. I'm a TSI 321 fan for spool bearings
  20. fluorocarbon, nylon, copolymer... all monofilament lines.
  21. sick bass and those with a belly full of plastic are most interested in anise laced baits...
  22. I have a couple pictures of my grand kids holding a bass and one pic of me helping my very young grand daughter hold a 2lb largemouth. I prize those pics and believe the Lord will forgive me if I endangered any of those bass... oe
