What Is The Weirdest Thing You've Caught???
haha, its one thing i dont think i will ever overcome. poisonous or not, i want nothing to do with a snake. one evening at Smith Mountain Lake, VA i was setting up to night fish on the dock at my aunt and uncles lake house. and my uncle had invited his deviant always in trouble nephew(not related to me) to do some work down there for him. he was pretty hammered. well, while setting up we saw a snake swimming across the water towards the shore. several minutes later he realized he forgot his chicken livers up at the house and went to get them. stepping off the dock and he saw the snake right there climbing into a barrel that was partially in the water that had a few alewives we had caught the night before. so he pulls this snake out by the tail and starts messing with it on the edge of the dock where it meets land. he is pretty drunk and has this maniacal laugh going on while taunting the snake, which at this point is mad and coiled up with its head up like its ready to strike. im on the end of the dock, feeling trapped. the dude kicks the snake down the dock towards me and i start to freak out and jump on the boatlift and am hanging on to the side of the boat ready to climb in it. the snake makes it halfway down the dock. i get back on the end of the dock, and dude is still taunting this snake. i see his big winchester deer knife on the end of the dock, pick it up and start cussing him out saying if he kicked that snake at me one more time i was gonna cut the hell out of him with his own knife and he saw i was dead serious. he kicked the snake towards the water but it was able to hang on the dock by its tail and wrapped its body around and sat its head up on the dock while its body hung off the side. the guy said he was too drunk to fish and walked up to the house and passed out. i ran by the snake, couldve walked lol, but ran by and grabbed a long pipe that was laying on the dock, took it and pushed the snake into the water and that was the end of that. did end up having a great night fishing, tore up the channel cats, they were in their spawning and feeding.

Drop Shot Rod Actions
my ugly stik actually makes a great drop shot rod. sensitivity is severely overrated if you ask me...

Flipping Techniques
his goal isnt to learn how to fish the canals neccesarily though. its about the whos, whats, whens, wheres, whys, and hows to flipping. the canal is his practice spot, he wants to have the technique of flipping down before he takes trips to Lake Okeechobee so he will have an idea of what he is doing and what to look for...

Lightweight, Durable, Baitcast Rods Under $50?
HA! i was about to recommend the Ugly Stik Lite-Pro. i think mine costs $38 at wal-mart. mine is a spinning model though, paired with a pflueger trion gx-7. its a 5'6" Light rod. its light weight and certainly durable. i've caught a couple 4lbers on it, very fun...

L&l And Other Uses...
i dont know about your glasses vs wileys vs whatevers and none of that. but i will attest that glass lenses do fog up, especially during big temperature changes like going outside on a hot humid day. but yes glass lenses do fog up. but you make it sound like yours fog up constantly, every 30 seconds? i got almost $400 prescription ray bans and the only time they fog up is big temperature changes. like walking inside from 30 degrees to 70 degrees, or walking outside from 70 degrees to 95 degrees and humid.

Lures And Their Pricing?
this is kind of how i feel about high dollar rods, if you want to spend that money on a rod with minimal differences compared to my ugly stik then have at it. i could do it, but will not do it, cant justify it.

Dropshot From The Bank
i drop shot from the bank all the time. i tie the hook further up the line from the sinker as well. except i use bass casting sinkers, attach a split ring and swivel and tie my line to the swivel. it works rather well, and i dont have problems with getting hung up. i prefer to use a gamakatsu octopus hook or an eagle claw gold abeerdeen hook.

L&l And Other Uses...
i dont know, but im not using L&L on my prescription ray bans...

Cowboys Fan's Anonymous.
Dallas has plenty of talent, sure they have some deficiencies at certain positions(most teams do, even the great ones), but they have a lot of talent. you want a team with little to no talent, look at my washington redskins. Dallas problem isnt talent at all. I think their biggest flaw is their sense of self-entitlement without having accomplished anything significant. every year they get annointed as SB contenders and end up thinking theyre better than they are and that they dont have to work or try as hard to win. Dallas could be coming off a 1-15 season and ESPN would still try to annoint them every year

How Do You Catch A Catfish On A Rod And Reel
i usually rig them on a 2/0 hook. like said above just thread them on there, but i like to exit and re-enter the hook a few times or sometimes they will just get sucked right off the hook. when i use chicken livers i like to wrap a short piece(6 inches or so) of elastic thread around the liver to help hold it on the hook, its not necessary but keeps the liver from flying off during the cast. a 21 pounder is nice, now try to catch that on rod and reel, you can also use cutbait for that. oh, and shrimp also works pretty good. bluebasser is right though, baits like nightcrawlers, livers, and shrimps will usually get you smaller fish, good for catching eaters if thats your goal. your bigger cats will most likely come on live baitfish/panfish or cut bait

Farm Pond Trouble
yes it does, atleast my walmart does, thats where i bought it at lol

How Do You Catch A Catfish On A Rod And Reel
panfish is a good bait for catfish, but the wait is often longer it seems. try using something like night crawlers or chicken livers to catch them with rod and reel.

Farm Pond Trouble
i just wonder if an acre lake can effectively support blues, channels, and flatties. i thought the pond i fished in the winter shut down too. until i tried a rapala husky jerk and hooked up with a 4lber last february just after ice out and then another 1lber on the very next cast. the fishing was extremely slow though. and its particularly rewarding to catch a fish or two if you manage to pull one out in the cold water. also, slow rolling shallow cranks like the manns 1- and some other floater/diver type baits worked for me.

Best Type Of Mono?
old formulas just mean they have stood the test of time. ive been using trilene and stren for years and have one breakoff in the last 5 or 6 years and it was on 10lb stren. both of those lines have worked just fine for me that i would recommend them. as far as costs of equipment goes, i'll be one of the first to detest high dollar rods, i dont see the differences as big enough to justify spending huge on a rod. i believe in quality reels, but even then i have my limits. but based on my personal track record with trilene and stren i wouldnt consider them inferior...

lol that video was hilarious, i really cracked up at reason 3 at the end though...

2 Piece Rods
i primarily use two piece rods because its easier to travel with them in my car. i have no problems with them at all. i have 5'6 Light 2pc ugly stik lite-pro that has been an awesome rod for me. most would overlook it because its got ugly stik on it, but aside from strength, its not like the original ugly stiks

Best Type Of Mono?
i really like the Trilene XL smooth casting in 12lb for mono. most anything else i use for mono is either big game or on occasion stren original

Rage Tail Challenge
i was super impressed by the rage tail line of products from the first time i used them. it all started with the baby rage craw, t-rigged weightless on a 1/0 EWG Gamakatsu. this one pond i fished was giving me trouble catching them on soft plastics, they just wouldnt bite anything soft plastic...till i introduced them to the BRC and they absolutely tore it up. i would toss it out then reel it in like a topwater and then just kill it, it falls real slow and thats when the bass would hit it, thats if they didnt already hit it when i was fishing it like a topwater. the rage craws are very versatile baits and can be fished a variety of ways. i also love the lizards and the toads.

Good Fishing Logs(Journals)?
like i said, others may get something from it. i just make mental notes of things and refer back to those in certain situations, good enough for me. i cant see myself sitting there typing equations into excel to figure out catch per casts rates and stuff like that...

Good Fishing Logs(Journals)?
thats pretty much me in the underlined part. i just go out and fish, i have no pressure nor desire to record my catches in a log. I dont know if i would tell others theyre wasting their time, they may get something out of it though. but like you, i would feel like im wasting my own time. if its a nice catch or several nice catches, ill record them via a photograph. but im not gonna spend my time documenting every bass i catch or measuring 8 inch bass and stuff. to me, a fishing log seems like adding work to something i do to get away from work....
