  1. I pretty much taught myself. I can feel ya with the Culprit worm. That's what I caught my first bass on. Red shad! I Since then I have been hooked..
  2. There sweet man. I have it paired with a Daiwa Sol 2500. I absolutely love it.
  3. The only jig I have caught anything on is a Strike King swim jig, in the blue gill color. I added a Zoom lizard rear end as a trailer. Although I caught less fish they were bigger. Other than that time fishing with a jig, I haven't caught anything else.
  4. Yea the pro qualifier is a great reel. I have the tournament edition and I love it. I use it for my cranks.
  5. Xcalibur one knocker? If so, those are great lures!
  6. I have a 6'6" ML St. Croix Premier rod. I have landed tons of large fish with it. And it won't break you pocket for around 100.
  7. For sure there awesome! I own 2 and love them!
  8. Technically, you can use it for anything. It's always easier to slow down your retrieve then to speed it up. I'm sure that others will give you more specific uses for it though!
  9. My son is almost 2. I can't wait til he is old enough to fish! Fishing buddy for life!
  10. Yea Dicks for sure, maybe even Sports Authority.
  11. Yea I have seen the Star rods...are they a little better quality then Hurricane rods? I did see that they were about 20 bucks more.
  12. I got mine at Sports Authority, however they do sell them at Dicks as well. I'm fairly impressed with them since they are soo cheap.
  13. I picked up a 7fter the other day medium action and paired it with a Okuma Calera. I fished with it yesterday and love the set-up. Using it for plastics..worms, grubs, senkos..etc....Hurricane rods makes a great product for the price. Just wanted to share!
  14. So I picked one up for cheap, and I'm very happy with it. It has a DBS and a graphite body. Its very light, and when setup correctly very hard to backlash. So far so good. I would recommend it for a beginner or even the most advanced!
  15. I would try some lipless crankbait to cover some water. Just vary your retrieves and depths. You will be able to cover a lot of water that way! If that doesn't work try different colors and sizes!
  16. I like Berkley Trilene line. Its cheap and reliable if you are looking for mono. I woulds go with a medium heavy rod for for bass and catfish. For catfish I always fish a heavier rod being that you don't know how big they will be. Generally if you are in the right spot they can be huge!!!
  17. Thats what I'm talking about! It's the unknown....whether it be a dink to momma, it's the same feeling across the board! A bass is a bass whether how big it is....
  18. Why is bass fishing so addicting? Is it the bite? Is it the not knowing of what your going to hook into? For me its the thrill of catching a bass on artificial baits, regardless of the size. The art of fooling the fish into striking something that isn't real! Some days its sooo simple, other days...other days you wish you had the one bait that those fish couldn't resist. What do all you bassers think??

I was fishing them today and caught alot. They were all in the 2-3lb range...I'm happy...just another reliable to-go bait in my opinion...Thanks everyone for the input!
  20. I have a Triumph M/H 7ft. I like it alot, and its a bit cheaper then the Mojo. Check them out.

So I went to a pond in my apts and threw the grub around. I put it on a 2/0 offset hook with a bullet weight and was just swimming it. I think I had it upside down , but I corrected that. After that quick fix I started to catch fish. I didn't even think there were bass in there. So far, I LIKE IT! Maybe I should of been fishing them sooner...
  22. Has anyone been fishing out there recently? I'm going to be fishing there next week with my father. If anybody has any info that would be awesome!
