  1. I have a 6' med fast pistol grip BPS Bionic blade, an old IM6 blank. They still make that rod but it's an IM8 now. Great topwater, rat L trap, crankbait, even spinnerbaits if you wanted. You can catch Bionic Blades on sale now and again for anywhere from $50-60.
  2. Another vote for the Team All Stars. I had several of them before upgrading to AS Titaniums. The TAS rods were excellant for the money.
  3. Give me his email addy and I'll find out what he wants. Does he take paypal BTW?
  4. I forgot about the SC. BTW, the sale is still on. To see the discount, you have to add it to your cart, then view your cart. The -$50 credit will then show. I see that now. They removed the little sale notice on the actual reel page itself. It's like a surprise discount which you'd never know was there until you actually went to buy one.
  5. Another vote for a Team Allstar along with Revo S 99.95 or Revo SC from Cabela's 129.95 (Sorry, you're too late for the big sale) or Revo SX for $149.95 You can get any of the above reels new, on Ebay for cheaper.
  6. I don't tournament fish much anymore but when I do Worm/jig - 6'6" All Star Titanium Hvy, Revo S. Senko/Sluggo - 6'9" All Star Titanium Wacky worm special, Revo S C-rig - 7' All Star Titanium MHvy, Revo S Spinnerbait/Buzzbait - All Star Classic 6'8" MHvy, Revo SC Flippin/Pitchin - AllStar Classic 7' Hvy, Garcia 2005LP Crankbait 1 - BPS Crankin stick 6' med, Rick Clunn RCX1000 Crankbait 2 - BPS Crankin Stick 6'6" med, Rick Clunn RCX1000 Rat L Trap/Jerkbait - All Star Classic 6' M, Revo SX Topwater - BPS Bionic blade IM6 pistol grip 6' M, Revo SC I left out about 3 baitcasters and 3 spinning rods. Those are in the box if I need them. I'll clear the deck of rods I don't need as I establish a pattern.
  7. A medium action rod rated to 25lb test line and 1oz lures? hmmm... somethings not right there. Example, I have an original All Star Classic MBR. 7', med, extra fast action. It's a 1/4-3/4 with a 10-20lb rating. Somethings wrong with the markings on that rod I suspect. Are you sure an H may have been scratched off of the 6'6" rod?
  8. I'd consider those a flippin/pitchin reel and only if you like the flippin/Instagage feature when you're doing those techniques. As for regular fishing, you can spend the same money and get a better suited reel.
  9. I haven't fished with the Cruxis but I sold a few. You can get them way cheaper on the forums and Ebay, like new vs. buying new. For some reason the reel just isn't catching on. That reel reminds me of the Daiwa Advantage 150 series. Pretty decent reel for the money and the Daiwa is another that just isn't catching on even though it's a nice reel. As for the Revo S? I've got several along with SX and SC's. Honestly, I like the S version better than the other two for some reason. My only gripe is the palm plate release for brake adjustment. Hopefully they'll change that in the future. If you look on the forums or Ebay you can get a used or even like new Revo S for anywhere from $60 - 80.
  10. Yep, that's normally my best time. I've also found the bidding will be fierce in the Sunday afternoon hours, then stop around 5pm and then pickup again right around auction closing. Late Saturday nights are pretty good. Mondays and Tuesdays are losers.
  11. Not sure Tracker would have that kind of info on hand for a boat that old. I'm sure that at the very least there'd be some sort of structural bulkhead towards the front you'd have to deal with.
  12. BPS and Cabelas sell a variety of interior lights of different types that would suit your needs.
  13. An SS prop will probably gain you a couple miles an hour but seriously, tin rigs from that era weren't designed to do much more that provide a cheap, low cost alternative to a fiberglass bass boat. There was nothing designed into the hull that changes in engine height, propping, jackplates or anything else you could do will get you any kind of significant increases in speed. Those boats are what they are.
  14. Try using google. There are plenty of places selling the stuff, finding 12volt, submersible may be a different story.
  15. Dunno, I forgot to check boat rental costs today. BTW, it was freezing this morning. Dink braved the cold wind, ran up lake and knocked em dead. I stayed down lake and caught nothing. Moved up the lake and finally caught some fish.
  16. Most of my best Ebay deals have come due to pilot error by the seller. Namely, listing an item with a ending time that is not ideal. Oddly enough some call it superstition but I've found that stuff draws more bids and higher bids when the end time is on certain days and times. Some days are duds, others are peak. Some times are absolutely no-no's.
  17. Well Joe, it sounds like you need to start fishing more of those ponds with the big bass in them.
  18. Has it gotten to be too much? I remember way back when, I picked up an issue of Sports Afield. There was an article by Homer Circle on his take of the first Bassmasters Classic held on Lake Mead way back then. (1971) For the times, it was just as flashy given what was available. Just a natural progression of which you can choose or not to partake in. You can make it simple and cheap or flashy and expensive. I sure won't judge either way you go.
  19. new to fishing
  20. Is needemp going to this shootout? BTW, I'll be there tomorrow checking out the competition. ;D
  21. Wait till that black suckers been sitting on the deck for around an hour in the summer sun. Talk about a hot potato!!
  22. To start off, just what type of rod, action, length are you looking for with each outfit you want to buy and just what techniques are you wanting to fish with them? That would make this a whole lot easier.

Someone at a FL fishing forum found a link to some 9-11 calls made during Hurricane Ivan when it roared up through Orange Beach/Pensacola. Many were from people up in P-cola bay whose houses were starting to come apart when the storm surge roared up into the bay. Some of those people didn't survive. Those phone calls were rather disturbing and enough to make me change my mind on ever wanting to live right on the coast, regardless of how beautiful it is there. At the very least, riding out a hurricane would never be anything I'd desire to do.
  24. 0-3ft - Floating Rat-L-Trap 3-8ft - I have a variety of crankers, Some rebel wee R's, Bandits, Normans and Bagleys. 6-12ft - Deep Little N, Original Wiggle Wart 12 + - I've got some fat free shads and DD22's.
  25. My wife caught her PB on a Norman jerkbait. They only produced those for a couple years in the early 90's though. I've caught plenty of fish on Norman's N series. Great baits, the sunshine gelcoat finishes are durable and they're priced right.
