Best way to get contacts is to actually fish tournaments with a team. College teams are the best to start and gain contacts with. Trust me there are some complete morons in the fishing industry that have degrees and work pretty good jobs. You dont have to be the brightest person to work in the industry but you have to be able to market yourself.

Taking any boat out on the fox chain is not worth it for bass fishing I suggest hitting wisconsin lakes over it. The lund and ranger sit pretty close to the same height in the water. Honestly if i had the choice I would go with the ranger because of performance I know someone that runs one in small and bigger water situations including lake erie. Buy another Supreme before you buy the patriarch. For some reason the Supreme XT is a lot smoother than the Patriarch.

Parents of the kids or they buy their own boats if they have the money. Most big tournaments like college FLW have a certain number of boaters set aside for people without boats. Most of the big FLWs are on lakes like pickwick in which it will be tough to drive your boat all the way there if your from the midwest there are a limited number of these boaters though. You used to be able to win a boat for the national championship but I believe they stopped doing that. Besides that boats can come from donations, before you think about selling your old boat for a couple grand look into donating it to a team ( or even selling it for a decent price to a team). They can benefit from it a lot.

Once my reel gets old I will change out the bearings just to make sure the reel lasts longer. Besides that there is not point to change bearings on a high end reel. Diawa , Shimano , Abu , Lews etc spent hundreds of thousands of dollars developing their high end reels. If you think you can do better than their engineers be my guest. Also if I buy a $60 reel why would I want to spend the time and money to put in bearings and other stuff? Your better off buying a better reel. In your case since its an older model STX and probably well used I would replace the bearings if they are giving you trouble.

I use different speed and styles of retrieve if the bite is tough. Generally speaking I have a steady retrieve for cranking. If I am trying to burn a bait then I will crank pretty fast. The key is subtle twitches and pauses every so often. When I fish a spinnerbait I like to use a stop and go method and most of the time I get hit on the fall. If I dont get hit on the fall a single twitch normally gets a bite. Also when cranking sometimes I rip the bait through the water as if I am pulling it through weeds, it works pretty well.

Sony Vegas is not for someone with little editing experience. Imovie is made for beginner editing. I used sony vegas pro a little bit in order to do green screen work and it is tough for someone without experience to comprehend. I might be willing to help you out with this if I have some down time. If anything I can point you in the right direction. I am not an but I have logged in 100+ hours on Imovie editing projects for school.
