  1. Anything I catch over 3# is a big bass! ;D
  2. Frankly, I found it kinda humorous. The older I get the less serious I tend to take things. There are many commercials on TV that humorous, but have no effect on me with me buying the product or not.
  3. One of the lakes I fish here in Central CA (a deep canyon lake) the temps are still hovering around 60 degrees. The double amont of snowfall this season in the mountains is still meting off and keeping temps cool. What a pain!
  4. Welcome aboard Shimano-King! I live in Lincoln, CA. The late weather we have had here along with all the snow in the mountians (twice as much as normal) is going to cause the water temps to take some additional time to rise this year. welcome aboard! It's good to see another Central Californian on the board!
  5. I understand. My thinking is with all this talk about the success with Senkos when nothing else works, then why not start with a Senko, then when fish are found switch off.
  6. The transom is the back wall portion of the boat the motor is attached. The stringers are the long runners that run the length of the boat on the floor that provide the structural integrity of the boat. I agree that boat is toast. Take all the money you were going to spend on the boat and go buy one that runs today, and start fishing it immediatley. You should be able to sell the motor and trailer and use that money as well. That boat is unsafe to use. Sorry, I am sure you did not want to hear that!
  7. Use the Senko as a 'Search" bait. Then after finding the fish with the Senko, switch to a different bait; one which you are trying to master and fish the same hole. This would start moving you away form the Senko and allow you to start expanding your fishing bait usage with confidence.
  8. Too much.....But then not enough! I know you all understand!
  9. I also find if I miss a strike, I just stop and let the bait re-settle. No need to reel it all in. About 50%+ of the time, they come back and nail it. I am better prepared for it as well, adn the hookup is easier. Tap-Tap.... I love it!
  10. Always going back to my lizard on a c-rig. I need to start expanding my repertoire!
  11. Just shake it off. If you allow it to ruin your day, dickh#@d wins! Don't give him the luxury. You should have told him you needed to go in and buy a couple of high priced baitcasting outfits, but instead you'll buy through BPS.
  12. The Weakley bass was the largest bass ever caught. PERIOD! Call it World Record, don't call it a World Record, but the fact remains, it is the largest ever caught. Things like this make the term "World Record" so ho-hum!!! Not much credibility in the term any more for me. Avid, I do like your idea!
  13. Don't ask Raul... ;D
  14. Watermelon with cream laminate
  15. One lake is an empoundment, dammed up in the 30's as a debris dam for the gold mines up river. it is part tof the north fork of the american rive being dammed up. High canyon walls and built and maintained by the Army Corp of Engineers. Another lake is just like this one only about 5-8 times larger. Water is released form both of these all year long. Another is a privately maintained lake also dammed up. I would also say it was dammed up in the 30's? Thanks for asking, Fluke!
  16. I have tried to find topo maps of lakes where I fish that show not only the topograghy of the land around the lake, but also the topography below water level. I have had no success. Does anyone know how I could find these; preferably on line and free. However, I guess I would be wiling to pay for a good map. I've tried Terra server, and a few others but they all show the land contours above water. :-/ :-/ Also, if anyone know any, could you please provide some links? Thanks again!
  17. Adding/Spraying this to the bottom of the boat seems overkill to me. It will add a lot of weight, take smore fuel to push if motorized, etc. Also if you are looking to have to spray the bottom to seall the entire boat,, you have biiger issues with the boat. Put the boat on some saw horses and put a couple of inches of water in the boat to test for leaks. Boats are designed to take some hull abuse.
  18. Get goup of yours and his friends together and call him in for an "Intervention" Tell him you are all there to assist with his affliction. Put together a 12 point plan to ease him away from the Senko. That is: Have him use a sluggo, then a tiki stick, that large plastic workms then ease him into other plastices...then to other types of baits. lastly, YOU MUST, take away all his SENKO's ............and send them directly to ME!!! ;D
  19. WELCOME HOME!!! Thank you for your service to our great country! I am very proud of you! You are the future and the heart of our country! My fohing hat is off to you! I want you to know, come Memorial Day, you will be in my mind when I hang my flag! Thanks again!

The BAMmer's answer to the wife when she asks, "When will you be back from fishing????" Answer: " I'll be back, when I get back, IF I come back!!"
  21. Yeah, you're right. I will have to continue being a "good boy". But it is funny and interesting to read the responses and some very good ideas.
  22. Wow!! That's not asking much! Those two questions are what this site is all about. So you came to the right place. There is no short easy answer to those two questions.
  23. I am curious to know any of the creative ways you guys have, let's say, been able to acquire necessities to the art of fishing without you know who finding out...... given the elctronic world we live in today, I find it more difficult to "hide" a transaction. Don't get me wrong, I have never hidden any purchases from my wife. She has allowed me to buy all the rods, reels etc, and a brand new boat this year. However, I feel somewhat guilty in telling her that I need a nice new BC reel. I don't want to psuh the limit, if you know what I mean. Anyway, I am open to new ideas......Not that I would do any of these!!!!!!!! ;) MuAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaa
  24. ALWAYS SNAP ON THE SAFETY LANYARDTO THE CUT OFF SWITHCH TO YOUR PDF. tWO REASONS, IF YOU GET THROWN FROM HITTING AN UNDERWATER OBSTRUCTION, YOU DONT WANT THE BOAT TO RUN OVER YOU. 2ND REAOSN, IF YOU DO GET THROWN FROM THE BOAT, YOU DONT WANT THE BOAT TO CONTINUE ON DOWN THE LAKE. lONG SWIM, AND IF IT HITS OR KILLS SOMEONE YOU COULD BE LIABLE. SORRY ABOUT ALL CAPS, TOO LAZY TO RE DO IT ALL! ;D
