  1. 4,11,and 20 are my favorites
  2. yeah, I get it......but I don't get it why someone would post that.
  3. if I could throw a 1/8oz drop shot on the same rod as a 3 oz swimbait I would, but I cant.
  4. thanks guys, but it is not looking promising, time will tell. yall make sure to find ole bassin is addicting a bed..... he is good people, good friend and makes a good roommate.
  5. Ok men.......... hate to do this but I am out. this last ice storm has done me in at work. It leaves me to do 9 or so weeks of work in the remaining 6 before the roadtrip. I cant see it happening, so I am going to have to cancel. I will be cancelling the cabin I had in the next few days, so if anyone wants it speak up before I cancel it. let me know who wants it and we will just switch names on the reservation ( I have already paid the deposit and will eat that) stilling going to try to bust it, and MAYBE make the weekend, but as of now I am out.
  6. cynics unite!!!!!!! I totally agree, but I still hold a thin shred of hope.
  7. Braid for me too. I tried to use braid for bluegill fishing on ultra light tackle, as I was tired of the bass and catfish breaking me off. braid produced instant "cat gut" for me.
  8. sounds like it could be a good jerkbait rod....... even if it is 7 foot (you didnt list lenght) you want a good soft tip for jerkbaits, so to just make the bait slash and dart , not to really move it forward. thats IMO, I am sure the jerkbait gurus will correct me if I am wrong, as there are some AWESOME jerkbaiters here on the board
  9. I had a fish break me off one day, jump off the next, caught her on the 3rd day. same tree, and when I did catch her, she still had my old hook and rage tail in her mouth with about 20 foot of line hanging off of it.
  10. if you have a 38 inch shaft now and it works for your needs, then I would strongly suspect a 45 inch shaft is all you will ever need.
  11. check the compression, have a mechanic go through it..... use good oil, take care of it, and it will serve you well. that being said, all motors are ticking time bombs when you get down to it. They are just as app to explode the day it rolls out of the factory as they are 20 years later.
  12. and the funniest thing about Tigger, is he won his first Master's hitting a Cobra driver..... and he never gave them any love. lol
  13. fair enough JB.....the headcover vs what is actually played is still going on today, and actually tiger played a lot of his early carrer playing the mizuno mp29s..... which is why when he signed with NIKE the VP (i think) of Mizuno went to work for NIKE. and the reason the early NIKE blades looked liked Mizuno.... and still do somewhat. it is amazing to watch it all unfold, who goes where and who they bring with them from other compaines.
  14. local farm Co-ops where farmers get bulk fertilizer can weigh you too, and probably be more apt to help you.
  15. actually in golf what happens is said pro hits the NIKE but still gets paid by Titleist, because he keeps a Titleist headcover on it. like the ole "Talyor Made: the tours most used driver" it is false.... talyor made does however have the most headcovers out there, lol. classic example is the late Payne Stewart. he was heavily sponsored by top flight, but if you ever looked in his bag you would have seen Mizuno sticks, but Payne wore the hat, shirt, carried the bag, headcovers ect ect of top flight. Why? because Mizuno didnt pay people to use their stuff, most of the pros at the time (late 80s through the 90s) were ALL hitting mizuno irons, because they were the best . even Tigger. so it all boils down to use what you like and how you like it...... the pros do it for the money, except for maybe Amart, I really believe he loves his stuff and would change because he TRULY liked it better.
  16. IF I didnt love my dobyns so much, I would probably use ducketts. I actually tried a duckett..... hoping I would like it, since I could sell my dobyns for 2 ducketts. It didnt happen, I tried a spinnerbait rod and hated it. My knocks on duckett rods: 1. did not balance as well as my current rods.... they were lighter than my current rods, but were also tip heavy IMO. 2. fishes weaker than the blank says 3. tip had too much whip 4. split grips (they have since change to include full cork) 5. not enough options in powers and lenghts that I like 6. not a fan of Boyd Duckett's attitude, or at least how I percieve his attitude. 7. have heard/seen breakage issues those are my opinions, so take it for what they are worth.... but they seem to line up with other honest opinions out there.
  17. so is Miles thinking the faster he can mismanage the clock the better? sorry I had to (I actually like Miles for the record)
  18. Jeff what kind of hooks are you using??? I can send you some Owners if you would like.
  19. Hootie I wish I could like your post more than once.
  20. looks are part of the game maine!!!!! it aint enough to be catching hawgs..... you got to look good doing it. Get yo dazzle on!!!! can you really beat the look of a core 50 on a Dobyns DX, or lewsTP and dobyns DX with matching carbon fiber??? I think NOT. or even get all super funk like a stormtrooper with the Ducketts. pimpin aint easy, and there's no reason to hate when you can CONGRADULATE!!!!!!!!
  21. I see his point, but its the wording that makes it laughable. I never understood the stopping the clock after a fisrt down either...... probably allows more commercial breaks which = $$$ and thats what it all boils down to anyway.
