  1. For plastics a great start would be the below baits: Zoom Finesse worm Zoom Trick worm Zoom fluke Zoom Baby Brush hog Berkeley 7"owner worm 1/4 - 3/4 oz. jigs (Northstar and Siebert) These are only suggestions, and although I prefer Zoom baits, you can find a lot of knockoffs of these style baits from various manufacturers. Of all these baits, I feel like the Trick Worm is the most versatile and can be fished a variety of depths and speeds to match various water charities, depths and temperatures. The power worm is a classic and still performs as well as any other curl tail worm on the market. I've fished a variety of mass produced jigs, but since using Northstar and Siebert, I was too impressed with their quality and colors to try any other jigs. *****HINT******. Don't go crazy on colors when you're starting out and start with old standbys that work in a variety if water colors; I prefer black and green pumpkin. I'd rather have 2 different colors of 5 different baits versus 5 different colors of 2 different baits.q
  2. My only report is that I have too many packs of these (27) to have never fished them yet. You've won this round bait monkey/marketing/cool packaging.
  3. The orange craw one looks awesome; great job.
  4. I love my PQs and have 5 of them, 3 of the have been is use for over 4 years. I have a Curado 50e and 200e, but my favorite reel, especially for finesse baits, is my ProLite Finesse baitcaster.
  5. Some styles and colors are available on TW, but the best selection is on the website. Last fall there were a few different sales they had for new products, free shipping, etc... and I loaded up.
  6. With the Abu Rebate he can send his receipt in and get an Abu hoody for $9.95; just sent mine in after buying my new Veritas.
  7. I used to fish the Strike King Spence Scout with the metal lip in the late 90s. I loved that bait and it was before I even knew what a squarebill was.
  8. DSG by me is junk. So lures, but hardly any selection. I did buy an Abu Garcia Veritas tackle bag there just yesterday, which is a product I haven't seen anywhere else. They matched the online price and I walked out of there with a brand new bag.
  9. That's good. Glad to hear he's a good dude in person.
  10. They are available at fly tying shops.
  11. Coors Light is enough to get me through most days on the water.
  12. I got a bunch of those in a Cabela's crappie kit lije 10 years ago and used to KILL the panfish with them; have never seen them sold separately however and no idea what they're called.
  13. I'll probably lose all my bass fishing cred on here, but... I've never caught a fish on a lipless crank. I didn't even throw one last year since I have so little confidence in them and when the water is cold, I've had better luck with a few different presentations.
  14. These make a GREAT jig trailer; crawdad is my favorite color,
  15. Another Husker fan here. Don't fish Rogues, but I've bad success with the Rick Clunn Jerkbaits. Can't wait to try Megabass Jerkbaits when the ice comes off.
  16. Slot limits by length are to protect the fish so they don't have to be weighed.
  17. Veritas; I have 8 of think they're a great rod for the money.
  18. I've got 6 Veritas micro guide rods; all ordered online through TW or BTD and have yet to have an issue with the guides. Just my experience, and I agree that these are a great product for the money.
  19. Thanks for the tip; can't wait to try it.
  20. If you have a Bass Pro Shops nearby, you will be able to find some good deals and great starter combos starting on Friday. I'd suggest a 6'6" - 7' medium to medium heavy rod and a reel in the 6.3:1 ration range. Any combination of those rod lengths and powers with that reel will cover most of your bass fishing scenarios. I'd also do some searches and you can find a lot of previous threads with this same content. Good luck.
  21. I always downsize when I can't buy a bite. 4" finesse worm on a shakey head would be my choice. Downsize your line and fish slow. Not the most fun way to fish, but it feels good when you finally catch a fish.
  22. I used to throw the shallow shad rap A LOT in the spring, but have gotten away from them for some reason. I plan on buying enough at BPS on Friday at the classic and mail in the rebate to get a "Free" t-shirt.
  23. Does copoly float? Is YZ Hybrid a copoly? To the OP, I don't have any experience with copoly and was just wondering about its flotation capabilities myself.
