  1. The Avid is a very nice full cork length grip handle. I just don't like the hump they put in it. I just wish it was the same size all the way across. BPS has some full cork grips but they have added that Power Hump and I just hate that. You might be able to find some of the old Shimano Crucial Full Cork Grip rods. I have a couple of them and just love them. I prefer full grip over split grip but it is just becoming harder and harder to find full cork grip handles anymore. Or even some G-Loomis rods before the split grip.
  2. I use 30# braid on my spinning reel for my son and I use 20# for myself and I honestly can't tell much of a difference.
  3. It is worth the extra $$$, both reels are very nice. But the Tournament PRO is quite a bit nicer and smoother and over all a better reel. You can't go wrong with either reel though.
  4. I really like the Shimano Crucial CRCT68MA 6' 8" MED/MED FAST but I find myself going to my St Croix Avid 6' 6" M/F AVC66MF
  5. Can't beat a Cavitron Black on Black early in the morning or early evening.
  6. I fished my JM reel today for the first time along with a JM Elite Rod. Couldn't pass up the price of these doing the Spring Classic. So far I am very impressed with the reel. I have not noticed any more noise with this reel compared to my Lews Tournament PRO. Casting is very smooth and the new breaking system is very nice and very easy to adjust. Only time will tell if it can hold up to day in and dau out use.
  7. I sure hope that is just a wrap!
  8. Not a fan of that hook keeper at all and the grip they put on that rod is just horrible.
  9. Pflueger President Spinning reel and a Shimano Compre rod should do the job very nicely.
  10. I have used both and both are nice reels but I really like the Lews reel a lot better.
  11. I would go with Yo-Zuri line, it is an outstanding line.
  12. Love you Yo-Zuri Hybrid line, but I would use Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft for spinning gear. I have been Yo-Zuri for a long time and only apply KVD L&L ocassionally. My experience with P-Line fishing line has not been good at all.
  13. I prefer to buy from a local reatil store or a well respected on line store, like Tackle Wharehouse. I avoid ebay, you never know what your going to get.
  14. Last time I checked their playing in a dome and their is no dirt!lol So Patriots in a close game!!
  15. Peyton has been cleared by 2 doctors to play. Let the speculations un fold. I believe he will end up playing in Indy for the rest of his career and the Colts will trade the number one pick for multiple picks and or players so they can get back to their winning ways.
  16. Any color as long as its black on black. 3/8oz
  17. If you can afford a little more I would go with the Cumara 7' 2" MH/XF rod. I have this rod and I use it for jig fishing exclusively. From 1/4oz up to 3/4oz with no problems. The rods are light weight and very sensitive. The Cumara has a better blank and a lot better guides, Fuji SIC guides. The Crucial will work just as well. Shimano rods are well made and the over the counter warranty is veryy nice as well.
  18. The Avid is going to be a little bit stiffer, St Croix rods are under rated. Both rods are excellent rods and I would go with the IMX because I do not like the hump grip on the Avids. Theses rods would be great all around rods.
  19. Both are great, but I prefer the Ultra Soft in 8 and 10lbs test.
  20. I prefer Yozuri Hybrid over braid and fluorocarbon. Hard to be the performance of Yozuri.
  21. Is it the reel with the red anodized parts? If it is then by all means I would get 2 of them. If it is not the red anodized ones then I would pass.
  22. I have 2 off and 2 on on my Tournament Pro reels and I have the spool tension set fairly free(lure falls under its own weight pretty easily) and I usually have my MAG brakes between 2 and 4.
  23. Plano boxes and trailers stay in the original bags.
  24. No warranty, not for me. I like knowing the manufacture stands behind their product.
