  1. Took awhile to source parts to put this frog throwing beast together...finally done. 2. The ones that are in stock are the new model. They aren’t the one with the breakage issues. Those were removed off shelves or sold at a huge discount.

  4. Psychodad is an awesome trailer. Use it alot. I also like the 3.75 flappin hog in the summer but I pinch the long center apendages off when using it as a jig trailer.
  5. You should be able to unscrew the piece that I have selected in yellow. Pawl is under that cap.
  6. Yeah I tried my best to decipher your post...lol. The pawl cap can be removed /w a flat head screwdriver. The wider the head the better because pawl caps are generally soft when they are made of plastic and a smaller length flat head can strip the head. Reel the levelwind so the cap is on the non handle side plate at the edge. Engage the clutch (click the thumb bar) and the pawl cap will face you on the backside. Unscrew the cap, over a table, and you can shake the reel a little so the pawl comes out over a table. Inspect the pawl.
  7. Replacing a worm gear is very easy. Remove the pawl cap to make sure the pawl itself isn't damaged.
  8. Yes, the CT is essentially the same reel as the Fuego but /w a TWS. It being effective or not is relative to the user. The concept is for more area of free flowing line /w less resistance when casting vs a traditional oval. Weather it gets the extra X% of distance is up to you to decide. The TWS can be used /w any # test line. I have quite a few or the Steez/Morethan variants /w it and all have held up from 10# up to 22# line. It's not a point of failure on Daiwa reels. keep an eye on Amazon/Ebay. You can find the Fuego CT at times for 70$. The TWS itself is around 45$ to replace. I'm sure there's one off's here and there like anything but it's a part that almost never fails.
  9. I buy most of my reels overseas and Asian Fishing Portal is tough to beat for prices and shipping as of the last year.
  10. Functionally, it's the same exact reel as the previous CT. Has different knobs and some different color schemes. That's it.
  11. @Siebert Outdoorshas tungsten jigs and will make you any color you want
  12. Not when new, no. It isnt needed. I add bearings in place of the levelwind bushings and flush the 2 spool bearings
  13. if it feels geary under load, guessing gears or pinion bearings. impossible to tell without having hands on it. Either way, it's not a difficult fix. If it's new, explain it to the JDM vendor. If they deny it, the fix isn't terribly expensive.

  15. They are pressed in and yes they can be removed . Takes finesse but dont do it if you dont know how to. soak the bearings in acetone/lighter fluid. Spin test until the bearing comes to a smooth, slow stop. I usually have to clean daiwa bearings a few times to get them clean. Add one drop of oil and reinstall.
  16. They’re just different. Not any better or worse. Flush them really good though. They need it.
  17. The 3700 edge thin is a great box for hooks and sinkers. Used it most of this year and it worked great bouncing around in the boat.
  18. It does have a spool tension knob. Its the “zero adjust” knob . Its the same thing as a CC knob and can be adjusted. Just a little more difficult to turn but it will loosen up overtime. No, its not the same thing. Sv spools behave differently in different reels. Theres different spool depths, sizes, inductors, ramps, springs, and so on. Theres 8 years of literature on all the different sv spools out there to reed up on.
  19. Ohhh you sobI thought I was going to be the first one to have it. Mine won’t be here for a couple weeks. Let us know how it feels that looks slick
  20. I think you mean shields. The cages are what hold the BB in the inner race of the bearing. You can run them shield less w/o issue. When removing the shields, be mindful to not damage the cages under the shields of the bearing is toast. Soak the bearing in acetone or lighter fluid. Carb cleaning also works put obviously just wear gloves when spraying it in the bearing. I dip them in 99% alcohol after the acetone bath and then shoot them /w a quick shot of air. I use a bearing tester to spin them and make sure they're smooth. A stupid spin time isn't entirely indicitive on a bearings performance. You ideally want the bearing to spin w/o any resistance and come to a slowing stop. Any abrupt stop means it needs more cleaning. Put a tiny drop of oil in the bearing, spin it around a few times, and reinstall.
  21. Put your thumb over 2/3 of it use a flat head to pull one side towards the center and up. Then just pick it out. You can put the reel in your hands in a plastic bag the first few times you do this so that clips doesn’t go flying but after a while you’ll be able to do it in a few seconds
  22. I always do but i know how to do it w/o damaging the cage. Theres some finesse to it but its fairly straightforward. Im a huge fan of zpi SIC and hedgehog air HD. Hedgehog ZR are very good bearings and very affordable as well.
  23. zillion sv is a great reel for senkos. make sure you clean the snot out of the bearings. It will really free up the reel. I don't like stock daiwa bearings but if you keep it stock, clean them really well. It makes a night and day difference in the tatula/zillion sv lines.
  24. PG stands for "power gear". It's the lettering they give to their 5x models.
  25. Theres a fuego ct sv just came out as well for 140$ (ish) if you want to save money. It’s probably not coming stateside so you’re going to have to order it from across the pond
