  1. I have no idea what you're talking about.....the OP clearly...in his first post... he's trying to throw a 1/8oz weight + rage craw on a MH rod...hence my comment. This thread has nothing to do with you and your crappie jigs.
  2. A 1/8oz weight + rage craw + 12# mono is more than enough total weight to throw in your setup with ease.....i cast/pitch 1/8oz + plastics on Mh rods and 12# fluoro all the time with no problems.
  3. I live in frog country. Hard pass on this frog at its price. It's the same size as the big gabbot but the big gabbot has a custom hook /w perfectly placed hooks at a softer body.

  5. Clam chowder is the worst and you wont change my mind.
  6. Theres a lot of 734s.....and different companies make a 734....what rod are talking about?
  7. New Bagley are hit or miss. Quality isn't great and the adage "buy 10 only 1 runs correct" is fairly true /w them. If you're wanting to try the B1, try the Black Label "wreck" that cliff makes. I'm not a big black label fan but the wreck is one heck of a bait at it's price. Better alternatives are the WEC E-1, Jawjacker J1, Brians bees bee1. E-1 will the most expensive. The J1 will be hard to come by until rob makes more stock. The Bee1 you can find on TW oddly enough. Fragile bait though but it's good. i like the brat for smallmouth.
  8. 350:1. you can always slow down.
  9. i don't understand the alphas sv being fragile statement. it has brass gears and an alumnium frame. I use mine for flipping/skipping plastics....it's rock solid. OP, there is no magical when/how to apply braking for skipping. people do it differently /w the same efficiency. practice is the only thing that will help.
  10. Buy from any of the larger jdm vendors. Will likely get here faster than usps.
  11. I love the xtasy 725 for shallow heavy cover wood /w jigs 3/8-1/2oz. rod is the bomb. didn't like the 755. the only thing I like about the NRX was the blank. the handle, guides, reel seat, and overall build was dog poo. hopefully the revamp coming is better. I do have a custom phenix k2 that is on par /w the NRX and built waay better.
  12. should pull right off but you can take a box cutter blade and just slice it down the middle. it's just foam for the guides.
  13. Hate that it's a righty. Love everything else. Handle is bomb.com.

  15. he worked /w powell 15+ years ago. the numerical system gary uses on his rods isn't unique to his brand. quite a few companies do it.
  16. it's the mag frame. I notice it as well on certain reels.
  17. A spool shaft has a "t" pin that seats in the bottom of the pinon gear. when those are seated together correctly, turning the handle will move the drive gear/pinion gear which will in turn rotate the spool. On some reels, tension is needed from the drag and/or CC knob to press down onto the drag stack and keep pressure on the gears to mesh. make sure those aren't loose. If you can move the handle forward and not backward, your AR is correct. If it's rotating backwards w/o resistance, you might have missed the sleeve. reels aren't complicated. you likely missed something small.
  18. it's very, very....very easy to find people to do what you want. And there's a handful that are top notch. Tuning a reel, correctly, is very easy. It takes time and some trial and error over time but fishing reels, namely casting, are very simple pieces to work on...regardless of the brand.
  19. it was just for sponsors. Tom did and has always poured his own jigs. you can't buy his off the shelf. The closest thing to them is Super K/Brovarney. His hooks are a touch different due to how he bends them but they are definitely a lighter wire which is why you see him just reel set. Tom is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet and will even let you snipe one of his jigs when he isn't looking.
  20. You’re going to need to remove the handle side plate. I believe the other end of that is held In by an eclip
  21. "zero adjuster" is just a preset CC knob that gives the spool , ideally, a very small amount of play. it's not an upgrade, or different form of CC knob. It's just a very tight CC knob. nothing more, nothing less. you can still rotate the CC knob and over time it will get easier to turn if you loosen them. a reel having zero adjust or not shouldn't have any bearing on a purchase. it's literally the same thing as your "regular" CC knob. They are also not all set correctly. 1 of my 2 steez SVTW was too tight, 1 of my 2 steez A TW was too loose and the morethan PeTW I just got today was too tight.
  22. 705cb graphite or glass is perfect for 1.5/2.5. Not a good 4.0 rod
