Champion 765Flip Vs Ltb Pitching
Id rather use the 766 than the 765 for what you want to use it for. I had the 766 last year and used it strictly for punching. Beast of a rod but was able to pitch 3/4. +beaver up to 1 1/2 oz +beaver with no issues into nasty slop. Id rather have the 5 for spinnerbaits but the 6 for everything else. I used a few years ago the HMF version of the pitching. It was a good stick. The MH would be over worked with the mf tip but the MF tip was just awesome for punching.

What Setup Was Your First Bass Of 2014 Caught On?
2 pound tree bass Dobyns DX 745 Daiwa t3 20# fluoro 1/2 oz brush jig pitched off my back deck to an isolated stump. Once she bit it was either go get her through the snow or wrestle it out not wanting to spook anything else around. I won this war. Open water cannot come soon enough, seriously.

Convince Me To Use Flouro?
The biggest reason i use fluoro on almost everything is its slack line sensitivity. Braid doesnt have any and mono isnt as dense. Nothing beats braid when using a tight line. Once theres a bow in the line or you are letting the bait fall on slack line, fluoros sensitivity is unmatched. Its abrasion resistance is also great. As far as handling and memory, use kvd line and lure conditioner and all your problems go away. Tie the right knot and check your line and you wont have any mystery breakoffs

Mh- Moderate For A Swim Jig
Depends on the style of swim jig (north vs south) and the style of hook. You could in theory get away with a moderate rod as long as it isnt glass using braid for a northern style swim jig because of the lighter hooks. A sweeping hookset or just a reel set is more efficient hookset with swim jigs than a swing for the fence approach. A moderate action doesnt have the power to drive big hooks home on certain swim jigs. You are also fishing swim jigs through cover and weeds. You need, not necessarily a meat stick, but something with a solid backbone. I would personally pass on the rod unless it was mis labeled and is fast instead of moderate. I prefer a fast action, hated xf.
