  1. that moment when you get too cute and sit Evans for rod smith.
  2. Holy ****...lol. That ram's DST...hahaha..jesus. Yeah I think you should have this but rod smith over evans was a bit odd. Gordon's good juju will sprinkle it's goodness your way.
  3. You stole Flash from me. I stole his good juju. Both teams /w him going to the 'ship.
  4. It's braided line. Stop overthinking it. It isn't abrasion resistant to begin with. Some are better than others but when it comes down to it and you need something abrasion resistant, use a leader or switch to a mono/fluoro when you're tossing 8oz swimbaits on your 2 power rods. Find one that casts really smooth and roll with it. I really like the FX2 in blue/green.
  5. So the spool won't spin at all when you press the thumb bar down it sounds like. Assuming the reel was working correctly before you opened it up, you didn't assemble something correctly in the clutch or something came loose. Check to see if the small spring that connects the clutch to the side of the reel is seated all the way and connected to both the clutch plate and the small hole in the frame. There's another small piece above that spring that slides up and down when you press the clutch in and turn the handle to re-engage it. You can wiggle this by hand pretty easy and you to move it behind the little edge on the frame. Make sure it's sliding behind the the small area it's supposed to next to the edge of the frame. You can trouble shoot this yourself fairly easily. Take the handle side plate off and engage the clutch slowly.
  6. If the pinion was holding on to the spool you wouldn't be able to depress the clutch. You aren't very clear on what the exact problem is. The above post said you can press the thumb bar down and turn the handle fine but the first post you made said that you cannot spin the spool when you depress the thumb bar. Please tell us specifically what the reel is doing.
  7. So when you press the thumb bar down and try to turn the handle the spool won't move? When the thumb bar isn't engaged does it spin correctly?
  8. Locally it's 12.84 for 150 yards. It's also 12.84 online.
  9. Cheap alternative to power pro...power pro is the cheap alternative. It's 12-13$ at walmart for 150yds and will last you 2-3 years. Sometimes you can find Daiwa JBraid for 8$ at Dicks.
  10. The chronarch spool shaft goes through pinion so it is always contacting it. If you spool pin is rubbing up against the bottom of the pinion you can try 2 things. First pull the spool out, loosen the cast control knob and re-seat the spool. Make sure it's seated in the pinion. Second, since you took the reel apart, it wouldn't hurt to pop the handle side plate off and make sure you did seat the pinion and the chassis (The piece that the pinion sits and and rides on the 2 posts /w the springs on top) down correctly.
  11. I hate peaking during the regular season. I think I went something like 9-0 last year and then lost 5-6 straight to end it and in the playoffs. Side not for all of you that are active still.....next year I think we will be going to the traditional DST scoring and making it a 1 or 1/2 PPR. Maybe making it 3 rb/3wr to change it up. If anybody wants to do a FAAB type waiver wire we could change it to that too. I prefer FAAB over waiver priority but some don't. Also, for the teams that get 1/2 place, please PM me at the end of next week the paypal address you would like your winnings sent to. You'll most likely get it immediately after the last player is done unless your team wins by 3 points or something close. At that point I will wait to see if there are any major stat corrections that will effect the outcome that ESPN goofed up. I've had years where they didn't credit a TD, Fumble, or yards from a saturday game until Monday night. You guys will most likely be monitoring that yourself pretty close so if you see anything just let me know and I'll dig into it. @FordsnFishin If you are playing next year, I think you should be obligated to change your name from "your king" to "I'm a pretty pretty princess" for finishing dead last. =)
  12. Aren't the blanks made in Mexico but the rod's are assembled in Park Falls or did they stop doing that all together? Not that it really matters either way.
  13. And that's the issue that many people get confused with. The word "warranty" doesn't mean "free replacement" and I think that's where people almost always are misinformed on what an actual "limited lifetime warranty" really is (Dobyns has a limited lifetime warranty for what it's worth). Comparing your car's warranty isn't like comparing that of a fishing rod. It isn't apples to apples. Warranty means different things to different companies. Every single company/product (for the most part) has a clear description of what their warranty is. Dobyns is no different. It states right on their warranty page what it is. What most likely irritates rod companies the most is when people say after 4 years that their rod is broken and they expect a new one for free because it has a "lifetime warranty". Again, warranty doesn't mean "free replacement". The OP was more than welcome to send it in for a free inspection and he could have lucked out and got one for free. Companies like St. Croix, Dobyns, and GLoomis all have a fee for replacing a broken rod. There are instances where a company will replace a rod for free but it isn't the norm and it should never be expected after you have used a rod for more than a year. A defective rod will break during normal use during the first few outings and the very least within the first year. Could they avoid some confusion not calling it a lifetime warranty and instead call it a discounted xxxxxxx warranty? Sure. However, there would be very little confusion if people actually read what the warranty is on the webpage or just be speaking with the company.
  14. The problem with this train of thought and OP’s is people equate the word “warranty” with “free replacement”. After 4 years you break your rod and the warranty offers you a 70$ replacement for a 230-240$ rod is beyond resonable. When people put in these warranty claims for a rod they always feel that their situation is unique when in reality eight out of 10 I would bet warranty claims sound the exact same. Every time it’s the same excuse… “I baby my stuff , it’s flawless” or “I swung on a 12 inch fish with a 1/16 weight and the rod snapped in half” if your rod does not break within at most the first year, there are no manufacturer defects and a breakage at that point is user error and a free replacement should never be warranted although it does happen on occasion. If a rod company took everybody’s excuse at face value there wouldnt be anymore Rod companies left.
  15. Unless a rod had been sitting in a dark room unused for 4 years, a 4 year old break isnt a defect.
  16. Do you have an accessory cut off switch in the back hatch? First thought is the wiring harness under the dash.
  17. @Jrob78 Hope you got the stones like I did. Have him in 2 leagues and both advanced. It's just good juju.
  18. Speak with the dealer who you want to order the boat through and ask them to work with you. They want your money. When I ordered my new Ranger I paid a few thousand less than what it cost to build it online .
  19. It's a Cabela's housebrand rod....You can find what's left over on sale in a Cabela's store. When they are gone, they are gone. They were discontinued a while ago. Ours still has a few left.
  20. Go new. If you don't know the condition of the internals of the reel, just pass if you aren't ready or capable of tearing it down completely. Gears and other small parts could be bad and you'll be into it for more than you paid quicker than you think.
  21. Solid 3 1/2 year old post bump.
  22. The Rod Glove ones go over the larger guide pretty well on mine.
  23. For a current model, Yes that’s about as good as it gets. If you would’ve followed the sales threat or any of the 100 tackle warehouse threads that people made , Tackle warehouse has in exclusions list that says it is unable to advertise prices at that discount. Everything on that list except for mega bass and Minnkota was included on the sale. You did miss the boat on the cheapest price on the reel.
