Northern Virginia (Nova) Fishing Discussion/reports
How do you rig it? Texas rigged with 1/4 oz and just swim like a swim jig?

Ok, I see that Dicks has their own rebate form on their site. I got that one from the Berkley webpage.

Awesome deal. But I looked at the fine print on the rebate form....so it's a gamble (even though DSG online says the rebate is valid. "Purchase not valid at Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas, Gander Mountain, Dicks Sporting Goods, Mills Fleet Farm, or Scheels"

Bladed Spoon
That spoon looks like it is about 1/4oz. I think you would have a hard time keeping it from rising with the blade in front. A heavier spoon (1/2 or 3/4 oz) might be better. But throw it as is and let us know how it fishes.

A Great Find Today
Nice find.

Calcutta 201b
That reel can definitely handle the 2.5oz bait. You'll have to use a heavier line like 20-25lb mono or flouro. But keep in mind your capacity will only be around 80-90 yards....which I think should be plenty for bass fishing. It's an awesome reel.

Why does premium braid loose color
If I ever use braid, I'd go for white so that there is no fading.

Yo-Zuri line diameter and spinning reel size
Go with the 6lb. Yo-zuri tend to be thicker than other lines.

Probably because they can't sell the premium tackle as well as they can with the cheaper stuff.

50$ Swimbait and Punching rod
The berkley lightning shock heavy rod is in the price range. It is pretty stout and should be able to handle a 3 oz bait, but 8 oz might be too much

Jawbone sunfish
I also got one of each color. I bent the hooks out a little hoping that my hook up ratio will be good.

Bad day to be a jerkbait
I wonder how those jerkbaits fish without the bills? Topwater jerk?

What to Add Next?
If you are able to count every lure and tackle you own....then you don't have enough. But I applaud you for making your list. Mine would take way too long.

Beginner? Abu Garcia Orra2 S & Ugly Stik Elite
I personally like the Ugly Stick Elites. They feel so solid and should be able to handle most fish out there. Just go out and fish. You'll figure out what you like.

Berkley Lightning Rod "Shock" series
I love the 7'6H. You can do almost anything with that rod...from swimjigs, frogs, punching, flipping, and large swimbaits!

Snaps - How many folks use them?
I use snaps for everything. I bank fish and typically only bring one rod. It makes it so much easier to change lures.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid Line Users ?
I use the Palomar with my Yo-Zuri and don't have issues with break offs.

Mikes Lunker Lotion???
There are a lot of scents. There is a sturgeon scent....does it smell like sturgeon or attract sturgeons?

New Trapper tackle hooks
Wow, that's pretty bad....unless she is a nurse that handles needles all day.
