Watch your line
I agree with the op as far as fishing Senko type baits. Line watching is an essential part of that technique. If you don't line watch, gut hooking fish will increase. Hi vis braid with a flouro leader will help in this endeavor.

Spinning rod love!
Love spinning rods, wouldn't leave home without a couple of em. I catch a lot of fish the power fishers miss because they won't use a spinning setup.

Bank Fishing Tactics: Fish It Out or Cast and Move
When I'm bank fishing, I fish an area from top to bottom then move to the next spot and repeat. Once I've been around once I may change a couple of baits and make another round. I always have a minimum of four rods{two spinning and two baitcasters}and my backpack.

(POLL) Do you catch and release or keep fish?
Got back into fishing eight years ago, haven't kept a fish of any species. Strictly catch and release for me.

Strike King (Rage Tail) Ocho
Fished it last year, not replacing my Senko's or Sticko"s.

Anyone look at you with a weird look like something is wrong when you say you bass fish?
Being a bank Bass fisherman, I get that look all of the time. However I would describe it more as a disgusted or offended look. It's the same look I get when they see me release em.

Will there be another Bassmaster Classic?
If you listened to some of the bpt guys, they are hoping to get to the classic thru the opens. Tuff way to get there, but it can be done.

Warming up
I'm on the same game plan, if not sooner.

Stealing a pros spot during a tournament
First off, he left the spot. The kids had no way of knowing that he was going to come back. Second I'm surprised at how many people are taking the screw the pro route. In the end it all worked out, B. Lat is all class and now has a national tour victory to prove it!!

When to start fishing?
Absolutely, your best time will be late afternoon when the temperature is its warmest. They will be a lot closer to shore than people think.

Is there any "All Condition" or "Universal" lure?
No Yes

YUM Dinger vs. Strike King Shim-E-Stick
You can't go wrong with either of the options you have chosen. Both have slow rates of fall and good color selection.

Any michigan guys here
That's why we get a charter captain on the Detroit River, Supposed to be a banner year this year. Let them find em, you catch em and they clean em. Saves me a lot of time and aggravation.

Line for new ML and M Spinning
I'm using 15lb braid on both setups. Mono backing on both, Fluorocarbon leaders between 6lb-15lb.

Hypothetical Time
Honestly I don't know anything about the smoke, If I'm buying, it would be two pro qualifiers in different speeds and $50 of new tackle.
-
Hypothetical Time
I'm going SLX at $99 and Pro qualifier at $49 at Bass pro. Sorry I mixed and matched.

Quick rant.
Just finished a quick practice session in my snow covered backyard. Air temp 36, wind chill 23. Last year I caught my first Bass of the season on Feb. 27TH here in Michigan. That's not going to happen this year. SOOO sad!!

Spinnerbait trailers
Spinnerbaits are one of my go to baits. Rarely do I use a trailer or trailer hook. When I do it will be a grub or fluke style bait.
-
What would you do if you were me?
If it was me, it would be the 6:3. That's only because I would be throwing spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and plastic swimbaits more than worms.
-
When/what to use a CPS on?
I only use those for plastic swimbaits and senkos. The eye of the hook needs to be vertical for it to work right.
-
What Am I Doing With All These Spinnerbaits?
Great haul. Most of my spinnerbaits have willow blades. They go through grass much easier. I'm using a 6'6" medium fast casting rod with braid and leader. Overcast and wind are always the best conditions, but not necessary.

Underrated lures / companies? Are we paying for names?
Plenty of opinions on this one. I'm going to give you my simple answer to the questions you asked. No

Strike King's version of the Jack Hammer?
Andy Montgomery was killin em on MLF today with that bait. He helped develop it, according to him. He acted like it wasn't available yet. I'm definitely going to check that out.

What's the Black Max of spinning reels?
Although it's at the higher end of your price range, the Okuma RTX 30s is a great reel. All of my biggest fish have been with that reel( Bass, Catfish and Pike) going on my fifth season without any issues.
