  1. I won't switch until I know they have remedied all of the issues in this public beta version. I know there are issues with AMD Ryzen CPUs L3 cache that they've fixed once and it made things worse, but it seems they've figured that out and a new patch will fix it. I just don't understand why Microsoft would come out with a new OS that has hardware limitations on what can and can't run it (unless they are incahoots with hardware manufacturers), when Win10 was supposed to be the "Last version of Windows" there will ever be.
  2. At that size of motor I would just get what it came with and call it a day. Changing the pitch or number of blades with something that low of horsepower isn't going to gain you anything and will most likely hurt the performance of the engine.
  3. Have you gained weight? 16 years can do a body bad ? On a serious note, with water getting back there last year, if there's wood stringers they probably soaked up a lot of that water if the water stat in there for any period of time. That would add a lot of weight if it's all waterlogged.
  4. 12 year old trailer tires. Yikes. i tend to replace my trailer tires about every three years or so. I get whatever Load King or Trailer Master tires Walmart has pre-installed on wheels at the store. Price ends up being about what a set of tires mounted and balanced would be separate.
  5. The shape is very similar to a Cotton Cordell Chopstick but I believe those were plastic and they had textured sides.
  6. Almost looks home made.
  7. Just make sure you don’t use the cap from the mega strike to replace the Colgate cap you took off if you plan on using the toothpaste. ???
  8. I didn't like it when I used it. Maybe I had a bad batch or something but I had several break offs on the hook set, and it wasn't breaking at the knot, it was breaking up the line. As said above, it's very thin and the wind catches it pretty easily. Other people I know have used it and like it and have caught big fish on it, so take my experience with a grain of salt.
  9. Another DIY rod leash made out of a cable cuff and a coiled phone charger cable: Palmetto Kayak Fishing: Build a Rod Leash for Kayak Fishing
  10. Same here. At least at the Dick's in the mall near my house. They used to have a huge fishing section on the second floor as you came up the escalator. They used to do a fishing classic type of sale every now and then and it was a great place to stock up on things. Now it's a very small section near the back of the store on the 2nd floor and the selection is very rarely stocked up and there is rarely a sale on things anymore. Academy has been my go to place anymore to get things. They are building a BPS about a mile from my house, and I expect my bank account to take a hit from that. The Goon squad has infiltrated Academy too though and they usually have half an aisle to themselves now. I just walk by and laugh.
  11. Michigan has Milan as an NHRA track. I don't think the top fuelers have a stop there though. It looks like COVID may have shut that track down for good though sad to say.
  12. I subscribe to this guy's Youtube channel because for one he's a really smart guy, and two he likes to find out how things work mechanically and scientifically. In this video he looks at how fish eat. It has slow-mo footage of several fish species eating, and how fast it actually happens. It really doesn't go into how fast they can swim, but it does show how fast fish can do things.
  13. First time I went to a Top Fuel event I was blown away, literally. Rubber pieces on your shirt, so loud it made your eyeballs jiggle, the thump in your chest when the nitro came on. And it's all over in a blink of an eye. Fastest thing on planet earth that isn't a rocket ship.
  14. I had been trying different bourbons, but had forgotten how good Wild Turkey 101 was. Picked up a bottle the other day and I've been drinking that the past few nights. For 101 proof it's so good and so smooth. It's funny because in college several years ago, we thought Wild Turkey was the devil juice. We just were misinformed back then. I dig the new bottle WT101 has now too with the embossed turkey on it.
  15. That thing is a tank. Huge tail on that fish.
  16. The 60hp on my 2008 175TXW can get me to 36-37mph with me and my gear and half a tank of gas and 3 batteries. With a buddy and his gear it'll go 34ish. Not sure if the couple extra mph is worth the upgrade to a 75hp engine, but from what I've heard if you have the means, get the most hp your hull will handle. My boat goes plenty fast and gets me to where I need to go with plenty of time to fish.
  17. If no one knew that Facebook was creating an evil empire of personal data mining they really weren’t in touch with reality.
  18. I know when I'm river fishing in my kayak and a couple jet boats come buzzing by the fish get more active due to them stirring up the water.
  19. Waves? If your boat is moving up and down the graph will show a zig zag pattern on the bottom.
  20. I think it needs a bigger grill.
  21. Not really an app but the USGS website has river levels on this map: https://m.waterdata.usgs.gov/
  22. We are the same where I live. Unless you have a jet boat to fish the rivers for smallmouth or drive over to less than productive hot tub mud hole lakes in Illinois there isn’t anything close to take a boat. Lake of the Ozarks is 3 hours, Table Rock is 4 hours, Bull Shoals is 4 1/2 hours. Stockton is 4 hours. That doesn’t leave a lot of fishing time if I’m doing a day trip. Those involve finding places to stay, places to keep the boat, and all the planning around that. Is why I’m looking for a river jet. Plenty of river fishing for smallies within a half hour or less.
  23. I’ve always done better in the morning. I think the night gives the fish some time to settle down and forget all the boats and noise that happens during the day. Plus the water cools down some overnight.
  24. Fishing is fishing. Better than any day at work. Although making a trip out of it and not catching kind of sucks, especially on an unknown body of water you have to spend time figuring out. but fishing > working
