I would suggest a 2/0 wide gap, light wire hook. Do make sure the drag is set so as its not locked down. A light wire hook,penetrates easier and you dont need to set the hook so hard, which will cause missed bites at times.

I have 2 of the same rod. I found them to be really nice rods for the money. Mine are 1 pc rods.

I use them,they start vibrating at the start of retrieve. Alot cheaper than zman. And it vibes better..

Academy has a terminal box. Same size as a 3700,cheaper than bass mafia.

I dont use anything,as most all my skirts are silicone. I do let them hang to dry before storing them if they are wet.

Ive been very happy with using CS coatingsPRO TECH. I only do 10-24 at a time though.

#7 and # 9 are what i use. They will catch fish just i florida just fine. But do yourself a favor. And grab some Rapala Suspending Shadraps. Clown and shad have been my best producers. Also i switched out the hooks,to the KVD1X2X.

Lead wire or suspend strips we used alot of back in the 80s. Still do at times now.
