  1. Use small safety pins or a paper clip. Also a line tie snap works.
  2. Theres are reasons this reel is still made. Quality dependable reel with a good line lay. The ones i have were made in japan. The newer ones malaysia. The lack of antireverse is really not that big of a deal. If i remember right, all reels were this way and fish were still caught.
  3. Very nice. I bet it will become a goto combo
  4. I use size 2 or 3. But every time i ordered the black split rings, they always send the silver. It wasnt worth time sending them back,as i needed them asap. But if you want black,id call to verify
  5. Id try it. If it starts grooving, you get to buy him a new rod . Just dont forget to adjust the drag to compensate.
  6. I have one of the smaller backpacks like yours. Open the top and pull out the center divider,as its just velcro in place. If it fits through the opening,ya might be in luck.
  7. Thats nice. Nothin crude about it. I think that will work great for my spinning spools. And i have dremels, and access to any type foam....
  8. Yes sir. I have both types. they work very well. The hooks are sticky sharp, and are a stronger hook than zman.
  9. Yep, ive got some stashed somewhere,in one of the fish cabinets.
  10. Any Rapala or Strike King KVD bait i buy, gets them junky vmc hooks taken off and tossed. Mustad 1x2x, or Owner ZoeWire are my choice. The stock vmc will bend on you eventually.
  11. Im going to start by trying bbs on my St Croix Legend Glass.

SHHHHHH! Have you been rummaging through my stuff? Yellow doesnt work-nothin to see here.?
  13. Got 4 of the jointed, shallow shadraps on the way. Thank you.........
  14. I use it to eliminate to tie jig skirts, or on jigs and spinnerbaits with those junk silicone bands. Also many uses around the house, buttons on my favorite jacket will never come off. Same for hunting, fishing pants with button closure.
  15. Agreed. Its not his first time at this either. And as far as old threads, ive seen many old threads pop up. Leads me to believe they used the search option, like so many want us to do before making a new thread. People comment, then here come the post about bringing back something a few years old? So which are we suppose to do? Back to the OPs question. Ive always gotten fair luck on flea bay for things you just cannot find at times.Good luck with the search sir.
  16. I have about 2 dozen of the original bumble chopper blades, with the bumble stamp on them. They are silver, and copper ones. Bought at a local shop for 10cents apiece many years ago. For the size, they really put out a solid thump.

I only use #3s. Owner Hyper Wire .
  18. I WILL SECOND THAT WARNING EVERYBODY.
  19. Well done sir. Another rod saved from the dreaded corner of the man cave. I did the same for my aging dad. It was a lamiglass spinning rod that he truly loved. Guides were shotty,so i replaced them all with AirWave microwave guides. Hes been using, and catching fish with it for 3 yrs since the new guide install.
  20. Id have to agree. Your replacement may be worse off. Also as long as you have your rod tube, your good to send it back. Just attach your prepaid shipping label. Print off or inclose receipt, drop it off at ups. theyll print out a receipt with a tracking number.
  21. I used #4 KVD 1X, 2x, shorts. Also i added 2 split rings per hook. Its worked pretty good at keeping fish hooked.
  22. Ive replaced them on the older lures before. Just take the lure hanger off,and switch hook, replace the hanger. It amazes me how well those tiny hooks hold, and stay tight after catching lots of fish. Newer baits get a new split ring and if needed hooks. Most baits have either cheap hooks and especially split rings. Size 2 or 3 in OWNER split rings. As stated above,if youd like to try is adding 2 rings. It does make a difference. Texas Tackle makes good pliers, the ones i have are stainless that came from Cabelas back years ago.
  23. I did the same as GreenPig. But i had some stainless tubing about 3/8in. Cut tiny grooves along the tube for wire to lay in(prevents sliding). I only needed 2 sections of tubing,as i dont have quite that many-yet.
  24. I use 2 above, and one below with just a smidge of space between the hook and bottom stop.
